Fan Bingbing In Chris by Christopher Bu – 2013 China Elegance Grand Ceremony

Fan Bingbing In Chris by Christopher Bu - 2013 China Elegance Grand Ceremony

Fan Bingbing attended the 2013 China Elegance Grand Ceremony at National Aquatic in Beijing, China yesterday evening, where she picked up the ‘Fashion Icon’ award.

While we have questioned a few of her last looks, there is no question that she does deserve this award after giving us many memorable red carpet moments.

On this occasion she wore a Chris by Christopher Bu Fall 2013 purple look with a striking pink floral print, consisting of an overcoat – sans the tulle underlay – and dramatic full-length ball skirt styled with a simple black top instead of the sexier mesh top the model wore in the look book.

Opting to keep her long raven tresses pulled back into a simple bun, she added a hot-pink lip colour complementary to her look and her favourite gold Louis Vuitton minaudière.

For me, this is Bingbing back to her best.

Do you agree?

Fan looks amazing. This would have looked better without the coat, but it’s a fabulous look either way.

This is a lot of that print in one place. But for some reason the pink makes it all okay for me. I just don’t know what the clutch is doing there in this colouring and I wish she had opted for one of the other hemlines. I’m so over this long, large printed skirt with simple black top look.

Many of you may have noticed that bingbing had put on some weight recently, well, she deliberately did that for her role as “Yang Gui Fei”AKA lady Yang of Tang dynasty in her latest movie.
Maybe christopher selected this overcoat for her to cover her arms and form a romantic silhouette, and guess what,it totally worked on her.
I don’t have a problem with the coat at all because all my attention has been drawn to her simple yet chic bun.The way her tresses flows with the wind is beyond beautiful.

While I might have preferred this w/o the coat personally, she certainly has the wherewithal to carry it off; it adds to the drama. What a stunner. This is a fashion moment for me.

    This one is great.
In fact, I think it’s much better when she took of the coat. So beautiful~~~

This is a great combination of her quirky and princess elegant sides.

That’s pure beauty for me! She looks perfect! With the wind in her hair and her gaze she looks like she is out from a fairy tale and she has a mysterious back story XD Love it!

We haven’t a look so perfectly executed from Fan Bingbing in a really long time. She looks sensational here. It’s over-the-top, which I love because it really works. She’s not afraid to take it to another level, and when it’s right, it’s right.

Too Much! is either left or right look! why you combine and overwhelmed by fabric?!!!

    • MatBer October 24, 2013 at 20:29 #

This look is totally over the top, really too much.

She haven’t look this good in a while. The dress is stunning, but I would’ve changed the clutch.

    • H October 24, 2013 at 19:49 #

Exactly, this clutch has no place in there. But she looks perfect, and the overall picture is really romantic!

I always enjoy your perspective and your comments, H. 🙂

This REALLY works on her. Lovely!

I would have preferrded this without the coat.

The print is so beautiful, and it is ideally matched with a simple top, but the addition of the coat ruins it for me.

    • Yeliz October 25, 2013 at 11:28 #

I agree with all of you.

  13. LeeAnn October 24, 2013 at 19:15 #

Amazing I shouldn’t like this,it shouldn’t work but it does. I am glad she wore a simpler top

  14. Alina October 24, 2013 at 18:28 #

BDOTY contender for me. Right here, right now.

I love the colours and the vivid print although I think the drama of the full-length ball skirt is partially lost due to the addition of the overcoat. Wish she ‘d chosen to showcase either one or the other. But overall I still like it.
