Chloe Moretz In Miu Miu – ‘Carrie’ Tokyo Stage Greeting

Chloe Moretz In Miu Miu - 'Carrie' Tokyo Stage Greeting

Chloe Moretz attended the ‘Carrie’ stage greeting at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo, Japan earlier today.

The young actress wore a Miu Miu black and red polka-dot silk taffeta ¾ sleeve dress from the Fall 2013 collection featuring black twill trims and faux buttons lining the exposed zipper.

Some have expressed a dislike for Chloe’s more mature/aging red carpet looks of late, but I think this funky look has both chic and youthful appeal.

Do you agree?

Black platform sandals, a dark manicure and wavy tresses completed her look.

Totally cute dress. I’m underwhelmed by the styling. I miss a belt, and the hair style feels a bit dated.

    This is a no.

I think this is awful. Makes her look barrel-shaped and frumpy. At least she sleeves are shorter, but it’s just too long, with too high a neckline, way beyond her years. The eye make-up is killing me, argh

I think this would look more youthful if she had a ponytail. The dress isn’t bad.

      I agree.

Not a fan–the dress looks heavy and without the belt the proportions are all wrong. She can look lots better than this.

There is nothing youthful about this look.

preach! just because it has polka dots doesn’t make it youthful. the shape, the length, the colors are all mumsy

I really like this look, but I wish she had kept the belt.

  8. Nat39 October 23, 2013 at 20:39 #

This is way too mumsy and unflattering on her.

I usually like Moretz’ fashion choices, but this dress works against her. I don’t think she can afford to go without a belt. She doesn’t have much of a waist, so she needs to choose outfits that either give the appearance of one or hide that issue.

She’s too young for this dress, she looks like Madonna’s twin sister, and Madonna is 40 years older.

    Where are her eyes?

^ LOL! I still get a matronly vibe from this dress, her dress choices pain me because she could be getting away with all sorts of youthful dresses at her age!

You see, when I go shopping, I always apply my “Would Emily Gilmore wear this?” rule when it comes to sophisticated looks.
In this case, I think Chloe should have used a similar one, only swapping Emily Gilmore with Anna Wintour. Overall, I put this into the meh category.

    Oh, no…very ageing.

Why everyone worships Miuccia Prada is beyond me. There have been some great Prada looks, yes, and I used to love Miu Miu but lately all Prada lines have been really hideous. These orange polka dots (shudders) are no better. Also, it’s super aging on her. A big no from me.

    It makes her look chunky.
