Amy Adams In Elie Saab Couture – Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Inaugural Gala

Amy Adams In Elie Saab Couture - Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Inaugural Gala

Amy Adams took to the red carpet for the Wallis Annenberg Center For Performing Arts Inaugural Gala held at the Wallis Annenberg Center in Beverly Hills, California yesterday evening.

The actress wore a look from Elie Saab’s Fall 2013 Couture collection.

Her navy fit-and-flare cocktail dress with a sheer neckline and shimmering embellished details thankfully didn’t suffer the same fate as Fan Bingbing’s gown.

That’s because the red-haired actress opted to line the bodice so there were no unsightly underwear-revealing moments here.

Looking the picture of perfection, she styled her look with Marina B jewels including white-gold-and-blue-sapphire earrings and a white-gold ring plus electric-blue Ferragamo satin pumps.

With her hair pulled back into a slick low bun, she accentuated her blue eyes with black eyeliner.

Most of you weren’t fans of her sexier Prabal Gurung look. Is this more like the Amy you know and love?

I find the top rather unflattering and saggy. Not good enough to see another Elie Saab-looking Elie Saab dress, yawn.

      +1

Agreed. I think the detailing in the front gives the illusion of her having a low, saggy bust. The skirt is very pretty, though.

I agree. The fit is off.

I agree but I think this looks bad on everyone including the model. Everything looks wider on top because of the wide and low placement of the beading. There should be more beading up top in the middle and higher. The skirt looks lovely however.

        Agreed

I love this look from the back, but I don’t think the lining of the front was successful. It’s bunchy and adds 10 lbs. I take issue with the impractical design of the gown for this reason. It’s a darned if you do, darned if you don’t situation that I will never understand from designers whose lines are intended for red carpet wearing, not just editorials

    Much better!

Yeah, I’m not liking this collection so far from Elie Saab. I hated Fan’s gown & I really dislike this dress on Amy. I agree with others, that something about the lining and the pattern through the chest is VERY unflattering. I think I’m seeing a saggy boob? Also, I agree with others that the cut is unflattering. It is sort of strange how a simple sophisticated aline cut dress with beautiful embellishments can be so bad, especially on Amy. Again, like the gown on Fan I will blame it on the collection. Sorry Elie.

Isn’t this a black tie gala? Why is she wearing a cocktail dress?

I agree with the others that this dress is off. First, the lining doesn’t fit her as it is wrinkling under her arms. Second, the bodice does appear to drape in an unfortunate way.Love the color on her and the shoes, but the dress is off.

I loved this gown on the runway and I think Amy looks gorgeous.

    She wears it well !

It’s a pretty dress, but it’s not flattering, and just not a great fit.

      ITA.

Beautiful skirt, poorly designed top–it must be lined, and lining makes it saggy.
