Lupita Nyong’o In Miu Miu – ’12 Years A Slave’ LA Premiere

Lupita Nyong'o In Miu Miu - '12 Years A Slave' LA Premiere

Lupita Nyong’o was back on the red carpet yesterday evening for the LA premiere of ’12 Years A Slave’ held at the Directors Guild Of America in California.

You may remember that she was front row at Miu Miu’s Spring 2014 show during Paris Fashion Week earlier this month, so it’s not a surprise to see her don a piece from the collection so quickly.
She selected a light-pink long-sleeved high-neck frock with a pleated skirt featuring a festive print of cockatoos set against deco shapes.

Thankfully shelving the black pumps for this outing, she selected a pair of Christian Louboutin red T-bar pumps with gold studded toecaps, with the rest of her accessories including a dark-red Judith Leiber clutch and Kwiat jewels.

I love everything about this look, especially the makeup, which picks up the purple and pink hues from her dress.

Fashion nirvana. She has such presence — and an irresistible smile. No complaints about shoes here, lol. Perfection.

She’s amazing once again. For a red carpet newbie, she nails it constantly. Wow

Perfect once again! Should be considered for best newcomer of the year.

+6! BDOTW! Best newcomer of the year! She is a born fashionista. I so enjoy her on the red carpet. Love how she is carrying this quirky look. And let me just say–her makeup: eyeshadow, lashes, lipcolor, glow/sheen, and nails=one of my top makeup looks of the year! She is GORGEOUS!!

ITA. I kind of wanted to see her in a gown again, but I do LOVE this!

I adore the dress on her, but I will be the Debbie Downer and say I don’t think the shoes complement the dress and the makeup isn’t my cup of tea – I prefer a more blended look. I think she’s doing very well for her first promo tour, but I am not as taken with her as others seem to be.

i agree, i don’t like shoes and makeup too.

I think the eyeshadow is too dark and heavy but I really like everything else. She is such a pretty woman.

She is such a delight to look at! Lovely.

I love the dress but I think the fairytale-like colours and patterns don’t suit her dark chocolate skin tone very much… I do like though the fact that she always balance fashion forward outfits without overdoing it. Looking forward to what she will wear next :)

shoes are not working for me here, but other then that she looks lovely

  13. Suz October 15, 2013 at 15:16 #

Love the dress and her lip color, but I can’t get on board with the deep red shoes and clutch. Different color accessories would have made this look perfection.

this girl is just killing it. If she keeps up she’ll be the best newcomer

She’s doing great! Glad she didn’t wear black shoes, these aren’t perfect but they work ok. She looks awesome.

    Five little letters: BDOTW.

I think the makeup works–it has clear edges like the print on the dress. I agree the shoes are a little off–I would have preferred a silver sandal. It is not my favorite of the dresses she has worn, but she still looks spectacular–she has such presence.

    so good!!!

  19. Giras October 17, 2013 at 02:21 #

She looks stunning! Ah I just can’t wait to see what she’s going to wear at the Oscars in the upcoming months when she will be nominated on Supporting Role.
