Kate Hudson attended a dinner for British designer Gareth Pugh hosted by Chrome Hearts at Malibu Farm in California yesterday evening.

While you may struggle to picture Kate wearing Gareth Pugh’s innovative pieces, you will have no such trouble appreciating her in this gorgeous Versace frock in a sexy bright red hue with patent-leather straps accented with buttons.

Her frock is an updated version of the Versace dresses with cut-outs which appeared on the Spring 2011 runway.

Kate styled her dress with black grommet accented pumps and a gold bracelet, allowing the dress to do all the talking by opting for a simple bun and barely-there makeup.
