Jennifer Hudson In Peter Pilotto - 30th Annual Walter Kaitz Foundation Fundraising Dinner

Jennifer Hudson performed at the 30th Annual Walter Kaitz Foundation Fundraising Dinner held at The New York Marriott Marquis in New York City yesterday evening.

A bold performance deserves a bold look, so the actress/singer donned a Peter Pilotto ‘Caio’ stretch-satin jersey dress from the Fall 2013 collection.

The artful mixed-abstract-pattern-print panels lend a vivid modern vibe to this frock, which features a slash neck, long sleeves with padded shoulders, a cut-out detail to the rear and a short pencil skirt with a fluted hem.

While I can’t say I am a fan of the hat, it does lend some charm as a performance look, with tights and black Saint Laurent ankle booties completing the look.

You may remember that Julianne Hough wore this same dress back in April.

  1. I like this on Jennifer, though it does appear too short. The camera angle is quite unforgiving, though. Wearing the tights was a smart choice, and I don’t mind the booties here. The hat, while perhaps okay for a performance look, still seems unnecessary to me. I like it better on her than on Julianne.

  2. I preferred the slightly longer skirt on Julianne but I’m glad that Jennifer added the black tights with her shorter skirt. I think it’s cute and fun as a performance look, hat included.

  3. The dress is so cool. I love the wild print. J.Hud owns it. She’s wearing it with the right attitude (at least it’s looks like it on this one picture *g*). It’s the perfect choice for a performance on stage. Julianne looked a little lost in it when she wore the same dress in April.
