Get the Look: Chloe Grace Moretzâ Messy Braid
When Chloe Grace Moretz walked the red carpet for the LA premiere of her highly anticipated film âCarrieâ, everyone took notice of her intricate side braid.
Hairstylist Gregory Russell, who regularly styles Chloeâs hair, was inspired by Chloeâs Valentino dress to create the loose, romantic plait.
To create the look, Gregory applied Kevin Murphy Easy Rider Anti-Frizz CrĂšme throughout Chloeâs damp hair. Then, he made a center part and combed the top smooth.
Next, he rough dried the length of her hair, but dried the crown and hairline with a round brush.
Then, he created further texture by curling random pieces of the hair with a 1.25â curling iron, and then combed them through with his hands.
Next, he chose a few random pieces to braid into small braids, working them in the direction the side braid would fall and fastened them with clear fasteners.
Then, excluding the small braids and a few other random pieces of hair, Gregory braided the rest of the hair into a loose braid, tying black lace around the end.
Finally, the took the smaller braids and loose pieces and pinned them onto or wrapped them around the larger braid, securing with clear, rubberized bobby pins
As a tip for recreating, Gregory shares, âWith a style like this, itâs super organic and not too deliberate. You canât really mess it up!â
