PFW Spring 2014 Red Carpet Wish List

PFW1

Alexander McQueen: For this striped beaded strapless gown with a feathered peplum detail at the waist, Nicole Kidman sprang to mind. She would look so statuesque in this exotic piece.

Balenciaga: There were so many pretty pieces presented by Balenciaga. Alexander Wang really has made me fall in love with the brand all over again. For this aqua-blue off-the-shoulder frock with an embellished skirt and sheer overlay, I can picture either Olivia Wilde or Rose Byrne. I can’t decide between the two.

PFW2

Balmain: As you know I love jumpsuits, and the only person I can picture wearing this chainmail-embellished jumpsuit with a baroque-and-check design is Nicole Richie – sans the shirt. You may be thinking she’s too petite for this look, but she has a strong enough presence to pull this off.

Chanel: When looking at the Chanel collection, I was thinking ‘What would Anna Mouglalis, one of Chanel’s ambassadors, wear?’ I would love to see her in this rich-magenta knit dress. The dark-haired beauty would look amazing in this unusual dress.

PFW3

Christian Dior: For Dior it was also a case of ‘What would Marion Cotillard wear?’ I selected this strapless ballgown with a broken-glass effect with a cinched-in waist. I would also love to see her in Look 34 and a few others.

Elie Saab: While watching the live stream when this mini embellished dress hit the runway, I said to myself that this dress would look amazing on Blake Lively. The question is, is Blake Lively-Reynolds still attracted to dresses like this?

PFW4

Giambattista Valli: As a huge fan of Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s ladylike style, I could picture her donning this pretty floral ensemble. She has the presence to not get overwhelmed by those floral appliqués.

Givenchy: Ciara was no doubt shopping for her next red carpet look while seated front row at this show. There are many looks I can see her wearing from this collection, but I settled on this black ensemble. It has both masculine and feminine appeal, which she likes to play with, plus it is very provocative.

PFW5

Roland Mouret: I was truly gleeful at the amount of colour presented within this collection and the retro appeal. While I know many of you are ready to throw out crop tops with white pumps, I would love to see this look on Chloe Sevigny.

Saint Laurent: While Kate Moss is a champion of all things black at Saint Laurent, I would love to see her step onto the wild side with this red-and-black zebra-print mini.

PFW6

Stella McCartney: There is no doubt that celebs will be selecting the lace pieces; I selected this loose-fit sheer patterned frock for Liv Tyler. The sexy yet laidback vibe of this look suits her style.

Valentino: Sonam Kapoor would look divine in this rich-berry-hued cape dress. I would even love to see an opulent necklace added to this look.
