Nicole Kidman In L’Wren Scott – Variety’s 5th Annual Power of Women Event

Nicole Kidman In L'Wren Scott - Variety’s 5th Annual Power of Women Event

Nicole Kidman attended Variety’s 5th Annual Power of Women event held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Friday afternoon, where she was honoured for working with the UN Women.

The Australian actress wore a L’Wren Scott Fall 2013 black long-sleeve dress with gold metallic trims including stitched contour seaming, buttons, cuffs and pointy collar.

I have a feeling some may think this ages Nicole or deem the dress to be too matronly on her. While you won’t see me voting this BDOTW, it does feel very event appropriate – business-like, but with an exquisitely chic edge.

Jimmy Choo ‘Rumba’ sandals continued the black-and-gold theme, with gold earrings and barely there makeup completing her look.

This is a no for me.

Agreed. Fit for a school teacher, not a special event.

    • dee October 7, 2013 at 15:33 #

      I agree.

  2. Renee October 5, 2013 at 12:53 #

This is not one of her best looks.

    • Fiona-Brasil October 5, 2013 at 13:25 #

      +1

    • Christine October 5, 2013 at 14:20 #

      Agreed. Seems very old lady

I have to say her looks from the fall 2013 L’wren Scott collection have been among her best from the designer
This is another good one and in line with what her style has become since the late 2000s i. e. chic (very chic), a bit ladylike, somehow cold but with a bit a sparkle
I don’t know if we have come to accept that she will wear L’wren Scott very frequently (when we probably were fighting the idea before) but as it stands this is a good look and again very chic

I miss the red hair, which would be striking against the gold and black. Nice change in silhouette, def event appropriate.

I miss the red hair too. I feel like what ages her the most here is her hair and makeup. I don’t mind the dress, other than that it looks just a bit inexpensive. The shoes are an excellent choice; I’m so thankful they’re not black pumps. All in all, she can do better, obviously.

    She looks good… just good!

  6. Tiger Nueng October 5, 2013 at 13:42 #

She look so lovely with her make up and hairdo but not for the dressed.

  7. Yeliz October 5, 2013 at 14:14 #

I don’t like this at all. It ages her drastically.

the model looks better in it, because she has shoulder pads to give it more of an edge. Nicole should have worn some.

    • Beverly October 11, 2013 at 00:18 #

I agree with the shoulder pads observation. She should have worn them.

I actually love this. Glad you put it in the poll.

  10. Nat39 October 5, 2013 at 21:09 #

It’s something less typical, and it works so perfectly on Nicole, I love it.

  11. Valissa October 6, 2013 at 06:00 #

I don’t get why people are saying that it “ages her”. Nicole is 46 and I think this is perfect for a woman in her 40’s! I’m glad she’s not wearing labels like Balmain and Isabel Marant and Pucci….she always dresses age appropriate and she always looks wonderful!!
No this isn’t one of her best looks but it is event appropriate and she can make anything work really…

I don’t like this on her at all, I shudder when she wears L’Wren Scott and this is my least favourite for some time. Dreary, I know it is an event for Women in Power she doesn’t need to dress like Mary Poppins.

  13. EmmaWoodhouse October 7, 2013 at 13:41 #

I think it’s chic! Love the shoes.

  14. anonymous as always October 7, 2013 at 18:30 #

I don’t love it but I think she is one of the few who can pull this dress off.

Elegant, sophisticated and very appropriate for the event. Comparing it to other dresses, she wins my best dressed vote. I might have worn different shoes and a different hair style to make it a bit more edgy.

She looks very elegant, sophisticated and appropriate for this event. Different shoes and hair might have made this a bit more edgy. She wins my best dressed vote comparing her to other dresses worn at the event.

Beautiful dress. She looks elegant, sophisticated and entirely appropriate. Different shoes and hair would have made the look a bit more youthful. Compared to the other dresses, she gets my best dressed vote.
