Pippa Middleton In Matthew Williamson – Serpentine Sackler Gallery Redesign Launch

Pippa Middleton In Matthew Williamson - Serpentine Sackler Gallery Redesign Launch

Looking a lot less tanned, Pippa Middleton attended a donors dinner hosted by Michael Bloomberg & Graydon Carter to celebrate the launch of the new Serpentine Sackler Gallery designed by Zaha Hadid on in London yesterday evening.

We haven’t seen much of Pippa on the red carpet, however, she didn’t shy away wearing a Matthew Williamson Pre-Fall 2013 blue cocktail dress embroidered with silver beads at the hips, before finishing in a flourish of hand-dyed ostrich feathers, where teal blue melts into peach tones.

The scoop neckline is highlighted with twists of silver beads encircling teal ribbon, punctuated with sapphire Swarovski crystals and a trim of tiny silver crystals.

With so much to focus on with regards to her dress, she opted for muted accessories including matching blue suede pumps and a grey clutch.

Yay or will it always by nay as far as Pippa is concerned?

I hate to say it, but… she ruined the dress.

      Jupp…she did…- “royally”!!!

      • Betty Brandenburg September 25, 2013 at 15:10 #

        She’s no royal!

        • Lola September 26, 2013 at 05:39 #

          Duh… – who doesn’t know?!

    • Charlotte September 25, 2013 at 11:45 #

      I totally agree !
The styling ruins the dress, the hair, the shoes, the clutch.. a huge fail !

      • LeeAnn September 25, 2013 at 11:56 #

Does bad shoes run in the Middleton Family?
Note to Pippa-just because it matches does not mean that it is good. The shoes are far too clumpy and day wear-she is not edgy enough to style it as in the picture so stick to Lady like elegance-you just might pull that off. So go and buy:Strappy shoes or a spikier heel. Be Brave Pippa try a Darker blue colour to tone in or try a silver or clashing colour-have a bit of fun.
Ditch the suede, it is not a glamourous material.
I can’t see enough of the clutch to comment although from what I do see it looks wrong. Please tell me that it is not grey suede.

It is grey suede, and bad shoes do run in the family. Terrible terrible look.

    • KatieKate September 26, 2013 at 01:27 #

I love this dress, and yes, she TOTALLY ruined it! I’m grieving.

  2. K September 25, 2013 at 12:03 #

Hate it! She can do no right.

    • Anj September 25, 2013 at 18:23 #

I completely agree. I don’t understand the hype about this woman. She dresses terribly 95% of the time. She doesn’t know her own body.

  3. Denise September 25, 2013 at 12:20 #

What a waste of an impressive dress! The hair should have been up, clutch and shoes are not suitable.

    • Christine September 25, 2013 at 14:11 #

      Not a good look.

    • SleeplessinChicago September 27, 2013 at 14:44 #

Even though she is super fit, this look makes her look fat. The lengh of the dress is all wrong on her.

Poor Pippa! At least her sister plays it safe and tasteful with the occasional flashes of classic brilliance but Pippa is almost always just wrong! Agree with everyone and sorry to mention it but her bra situation hasn’t improved either.

I hate feathers.IMHO nobody can look good in feathers.

    • LeeAnn September 25, 2013 at 12:53 #

I normally agreee but dries van Noten has some really pretty skirts and dresses with feathers. i was almost tempted-nost times feathers come across like bad ice skaters.

    • KatieKate September 26, 2013 at 01:30 #

Oh c’mon! You know love a foufy feathered Marchesa! :-)

      • KatieKate September 26, 2013 at 01:31 #

        *You know YOU love…

  6. Yeliz September 25, 2013 at 12:36 #

It’s a fun dress, but her styling is a snoozefest.

  7. EmmaWoodhouse September 25, 2013 at 13:10 #

I think she looks pretty good but I’m not fond of the dress. It’s too 1920s flapper, which has never been my favorite time period. Her suede styling isn’t helping matters. I think she should have gone with a more classic lady-like look.

  8. dee September 25, 2013 at 13:41 #

I don’t like the dress to begin with and her styling is off.

  9. Dean September 25, 2013 at 13:53 #

She didn’t ruin the dress with bad styling. It’s a bad dress. I don’t think flappers would have even worn this.

    • liz September 25, 2013 at 14:40 #

      It’s a VERY bad dress!

  10. AG September 25, 2013 at 15:06 #

    Terrible.

  11. kane September 25, 2013 at 15:31 #

The wrong kind of feathers. She’s not wearing it particularly well, but the dress is already working at ruining itself.

  12. Pam September 25, 2013 at 15:35 #

She is too old for this dress. It’s kicky and cute and belongs on a teenager at a dance.

  13. pipsqueak September 25, 2013 at 17:31 #

To me, she looks like Kate’s aunt. She also looks more like a royal family member instead of a commoner (say, Camilla vs. Diana) … lol! But in her defense, I’d say this is a mediocre dress to begin with. She didn’t ruin it. It looks cheap, like Matthew Williamson for Target or H&M.

  14. amy September 25, 2013 at 18:42 #

ugh. feathers are tricky to wear but when you put them in orange and blue, it’s a recipe for disaster. The dress itself is lackluster and Pippa does nothing to sell it : the fit, the posture, the accessories, all wrong.

  15. jokebetweenthetrees September 26, 2013 at 02:33 #

Hidious! Wrong on so many levels.

  16. elaine2 September 27, 2013 at 15:19 #

This would be a difficult dress to wear, you’d have to be ultra slim like the runway model. Pips misses the mark once again.
