2013 Emmy Awards Menswear Roundup
Enough about the girls at the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards; the boys brought out their own brand of style for Sunday’s star-studded night at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.
Zachary Quinto: The ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ star suited up in a dark Givenchy ensemble, wearing his black-on-black piped tux with a charcoal tie and pocket square—and a suave stare.
Derek Hough: The ‘Dancing With The Stars’ pro and an Emmy winner for Outstanding Choreography accepted his trophy in style in a classic black tuxedo and bow tie. The dancing shoes were exchanged for classic black loafers on this occasion.
Bobby Cannavale: The ‘Boardwalk Empire’ actor accompanied his date, Rose Byrne, in complementary style with a classic, fitted Calvin Klein Fall 2013 black matte wool one-button peak lapel tuxedo with black satin lapels, paired with a white dress shirt and black tie—which also served him well on stage when he accepted his Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor.
Neil Patrick Harris: Fulfilling his duty as Emmys host, Neil stepped outside the style box in Dolce & Gabbana’s oxblood sport coat, charcoal pants and striped tie. Do you like his mix-and-match moment?
Jimmy Fallon: The ‘Late Night’ host kept up appearances in a Lanvin navy, one-button shawl collar tuxedo with matching pant, topped off with a white button-down dress, a navy ‘Noeud Alber’ bow tie and black patent leather derby dress shoes.
Mark Duplass: Mark was also singing the blues in a navy Todd Snyder tuxedo with black satin lapels matched to a Tom Ford shirt and bow tie, Swarovski cuff links and Christian Louboutin shoes.
Michael Douglas: Keeping the tux trend going, the formidable actor walked the red carpet in a traditional Canali tuxedo that may have been cut a bit too long, accented with the hint of a mahogany pocket square.
Kevin Spacey: The Emmy nominee and ‘House of Cards’ star played his style card in head-to-toe Burberry, with a navy, two-button notch-lapel tuxedo, worn with a white shirt, a pert bow tie and glossy black shoes.
Rupert Friend: The ‘Homeland’ hotshot showed off a slick, black one-button tuxedo from the Alexander McQueen Fall 2013 collection. The black barbed-wire embroidered tie and black stitched oxfords brought a bit of understated edge.
Will Arnett: It was somewhat of a relief to see a shade other than black, delivered by Will in his charcoal wool two-button peak lapel tuxedo, a crisp white dress shirt and black tie, all from the Fall 2013 Calvin Klein Collection.
Jon Hamm: The handsome ‘Mad Men’ actor had a few red-carpet surprises up his sleeve—from his significant facial hair to his ivory-and-black tux and his Henri J. Sillam cufflinks— as he posed for photos with his fuchsia-clad date, Jennifer Westfeldt. Hot or just hamming for the camera?
