Zosia Mamet In Honor – 2013 Emmy Awards

Zosia Mamet In Honor - 2013 Emmy Awards

Zosia Mamet took to the red carpet today at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California for the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards.

The ‘Girls’ star took a more feminine approach to her outfit du jour with a floor-scraping Honor Resort 2014 gown.

The dress blurred the lines between girly and goth with its exploded, out-of-focus floral print and its black leather detail at the bust, although the silhouette may have translated more successfully on Zosia with a slightly shorter hemline. She also wore Brian Atwood’s ‘Tribeca’ peep-toes—not that you could see them.

She did pick up on the colour scheme of all those magenta flowers with a fresh, pink lip and a lavender-toned, smokey eye, which was lovely.

Haute or just plain hazy?

The bust is ugly. Otherwise nice to see her looking happy and smiling for a change.

The black bust detail is such an eyesore, but this look is still better than 90% of what she wears. Definitely one of her best outings to date.

      I agree.

So. Much. Better. Than. Usual. I have said before that I love Honor, and she continues to wear their adorable clothes and ruining them for me. But this is headed, at leas, in the right direction. I can’t say I love it, but I also don’t hate it. Which IS an improvement. The best thing about it, though, is her SMILE! Finally.

  4. Fiona September 23, 2013 at 00:26 #

Whilst I appreciate her effort to smile (I guess she is an actress) I do not like this gown. It is so far away from her normal style that it seems insincere. The bust is weird and unflattering, also the dress is too long, even with obviously very high heels (ironic as she is always photographed in flats normally). I do like the colours in the skirt though.

  5. Kat September 23, 2013 at 00:27 #

Much improved, but the bust! It’s like a superhero mask.

    • Cindy September 23, 2013 at 03:27 #

That’s exactly what I thought! Just dreadful!

  6. CreoleLady September 23, 2013 at 00:28 #

Blurred lines, is it? Lol. That print is positively defaced by the ugly yoke and unsightly black bust thingee (I can’t dignify it by calling it a detail). What a shame because I otherwise like the look.

  7. Marybeth September 23, 2013 at 00:32 #

Oh, dear. Her hair, make-up, and expression are so very nice — but the black bust makes that potentially pretty dress hideous. What a shame.

    • Yeliz September 23, 2013 at 09:18 #

+1. That black bust detail is horrendous.

  8. Prudence September 23, 2013 at 00:34 #

wtf is going on with that black nonsense??? way to totally destroy a dress.

  9. michaboa September 23, 2013 at 00:48 #

I actually really like this, the awkward leather bust part and all.

  10. EmmaWoodhouse September 23, 2013 at 00:57 #

Bad posture…beautiful print…waist-down beautiful, waist-up malevolent sartorial shenanigans. Overall: no.

  11. Parvati September 23, 2013 at 01:01 #

I don’t like this look anyway, but the bust makes things worse. For me, it ruins anything good about this outfit.

  12. TeaAtTwo September 23, 2013 at 01:06 #

I don’t like the leather bust detail-it makes it comical but I really like the print as it’s unusual for the red carpet.
    She’s smiling- that’s definitely unusual.

  13. Lisa September 23, 2013 at 01:13 #

It should be called Horror, not Honor

  14. Joy2 September 23, 2013 at 03:59 #

Shorten the dress and remove that horrible black thing and you would have a decent look. As it is, it is still one of Zosia’s better looks. Nice to see you smile, girl!

  15. alice September 23, 2013 at 07:55 #

The dress is cool and a little edgy. I love the softness of the colors, bright yet blurred and the contrast of the leather bust detail to the softness.
SOO tired of all the predictable gowns with one shoulder exposed or tight fitting bland and tiresome strapless gowns.
This one has some guts to it. Plus she is quirky and it fits who she is.

  16. amy September 23, 2013 at 09:23 #

the black thing on the chest is ruining the entire look. had she removed it this would have been a great look

  17. Jess2 September 23, 2013 at 09:41 #

I don’t like anything about this look really :(

  18. Fanny September 23, 2013 at 09:47 #

I cannot believe you didn’t even mention that she is SMILING.

  19. msd September 23, 2013 at 10:43 #

The bust is … odd … I can see what they were going for (contrasting pretty florals with the harder edge of leather) but it’s too small for a bustier so it just creates an unflattering shape, like a two-for-one nipple guard accidentally worn on the outside.

This dress is stunning but the bib RUINS IT :’(
Also, if you’re going to keep the bib, wear your hair down.
Such a beautiful dress ruined by an effing bib and her slumping posture.

  21. Dean September 23, 2013 at 13:46 #

Minus her bad posture, the odd black leather and a sweetheart neckline, and I think it would look nice.

    • Dean September 23, 2013 at 13:47 #

      and add a sweetheart neckline*

  22. Ayishaa September 23, 2013 at 14:22 #

I can’t look past the bust. That detail is UGLY

  23. LeeAnn September 23, 2013 at 16:38 #

Was Lena her stylist? This is ugly.

  24. snowlion September 24, 2013 at 12:33 #
