Princess Claire Of Luxembourg Married HRH Prince Felix of Luxembourg In Elie Saab Couture

Wedding Of Prince Felix Of Luxembourg & Claire Lademacher : Reception At 'Couvent Royal'

While all eyes were on the 2013 Emmy Awards this weekend, a Royal wedding was taking place at the Basilique Sainte Marie-Madeleine on Saturday in Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, France.

Claire Lademacher (now Princess Claire Of Luxembourg) married HRH Prince Felix of Luxembourg wearing an Elie Saab Haute Couture wedding dress which the designer created especially for the occasion.

Entirely made and embroidered by hand in the designer’s Haute Couture ateliers, the bridal gown’s design took its inspiration from the idea of an Ode to Delicateness.

The royal wedding dress was made of Chantilly lace embroidered with cream-and-silver silk-thread leaf motifs and embellished with translucent crystals and mother-of-pearl sequins.

The veil was made of ivory silk-tulle decorated with neo-baroque leaf motifs, echoing the embroidery patterns on the gown. The train was three metres long.

The groom wore a classic morning suit in three shades of grey with a blue tie. Pinned on his lapel is the miniature of the Order of the Gold Lion of the House of Nassau.

I am sorry but this is a copy of many long sleeve sparkly E.S dresses celebs have worn only her train is crazy long. She looks pretty of course be the dress itself is so dated.

Oh my God! She looks stunning! The dress is perfection and that veil is to die for! I can’t stop gaping at my screen. This goes straight to my BDOTY list.

On the other hand, I’m not liking the groom’s suit.

Amazingly beautiful dress AND veil. Fit for a queen….er, um, princess. He looks dashing as well. Leave it to you, FC, not to miss a beat. Even with the busyness of Emmy’s coverage, you still manage to remember/ find time to feature royalty. Thanks for all your hard work.

Okay, I’ll be the minority here. It’s lovely, so so lovely, but textbook princess. I don’t see any Claire in this. If anything, it’s all Elie Saab, the ever same Elie Saab. When I saw pictures of the wedding yesterday I kind of hoped we might get a post of the ultra-chic Beatrice Borromeo, but I guess it won’t happen now.

I hate the term: freedom of speech- because there will always be someone like you who cannot see the positive in something, but all the negatives and feels they have the right to judge. Shame!

I agree, Elie Saab dresses look the same. It so similar to her sister in law wedding dress, but because it pretty no one seems to notice.

Totally agree. The dress is beautiful, but boring and predictable.

the main pic is awfully taken. the couple should have stood in the middle and the train to the side. the center of the picture-where the eye should go is empty space and the train on the floor. the main point should be the couple not the fabric.

I loved Princess Stephanie’s, but THIS blows me away…it is a fabulous, beautiful, breathtaking dream of perfection. It’s on BDOTY list. The most beautiful dress I’ve seen in a while. <3 And the veil!
    Je l'adore!

I think this might be the best royal wedding gown since Crown Princess Mette-Marits. She looks incredible, the Luxembourg brides seem to always get it right!
