Jessica Pare In Oscar de la Renta – 2013 Emmy Awards

Jessica Pare In Oscar de la Renta - 2013 Emmy Awards

Jessica Pare was also at the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards, held this evening at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

After wearing an Oscar de la Renta look at a few pre-Emmy parties, the ‘Mad Men’ actress stuck with the designer and gave us a thrilling glimpse at Oscar’s Spring 2014 collection.

Her turquoise-blue ball-gown featured an exaggerated, sculpted bodice and high-low hemline, which she let take centre stage, only accessorizing with pendant earrings and black Oscar de la Renta ‘Melissa’ sandals.

While Jessica’s pretty pink lippie added a nice contrast, the black shoes wouldn’t have been my first choice, and I would have selected a more dynamic statement earring as seen on the runway.

The shoes are too clunky and awkward for such a whimsical dress, but I will give her a pass because she looks amazing otherwise. One of my favorites so far.

I loved so so MUCH this dress when I first saw this collection. Now that I’ve seen her in the red carpet, not so much…

I LOVE the color and overall silhouette, but the bodice doesn’t quite work on her. Her smile is radiant; the shoes, not so much.

    Misses for me.

    Not liking the dress

  6. Christine September 23, 2013 at 01:25 #

Not liking the dress. especially the bodice.

  7. Moxie September 23, 2013 at 01:28 #

The dress is beautiful, but the shoes are not right for this dress. And I think she needed a bigger earring, like the model, to give it some more interest.

I adore the gown and the colour is divine on her but I much prefer it on the runway. The silver sandals look more complementary, plus the slick hair gives more polish and the statement earrings play up the elegance of the gown.

She looks beautiful n the color is lovely on her – the bodice is very awkward.I think she needs a necklace or a choker – too much bare space with hair up n her long neck and low neckline

Only the color appeals to me. I don’t like the dress on the runway either (although the styling is better). Looks wrinkled and poufy in all the wrong places. Disappointing.

I love the dress on the runway. It was on my red carpet wishlist, but it is not translating well, and I’m not sure it’s Jessica’s fault. The bodice looks so different–droopy almost–like it lost its structure completely. I’m so disappointed. :(

      ITA.

Love the runway look and especially styling as well.

  12. rebecca o September 23, 2013 at 02:36 #

That didn’t translate from the runway very well. It’s droopy and ill fitting.

This is my favorite gown from the spring collections so far and I loved it when I saw a glimpse of Jessica on E! However, these sandals are all wrong and in the pictures the dress doesn’t look as good on her as it did on tv. Meh.

  14. Denise September 23, 2013 at 08:06 #

She should have kept the runway styling, jewelry and shoes. Colour looks great on her.

  15. Alex September 23, 2013 at 08:46 #

Sadly, she was my least favourite from the Mad Men girls. She doesn’t do a justice to this beautiful dress. I also don’t like the shoes and hair also don’t work for me. Overall, this time it’s a NO for Jessica

  16. AG September 23, 2013 at 08:50 #

The colour is stunning but the bodice is really bad. The shoes are also too stark against the dress I think.

  17. amy September 23, 2013 at 09:12 #

the bodice is shapeless and sitting so low. Too bad because the color is gorgeous

  18. Yeliz September 23, 2013 at 09:33 #

I expected so much more from her. This is very unflattering and ill fitted. I only like the colour of the gown.

  19. Haidi September 23, 2013 at 12:26 #

This dress does nothing for her – for such a slim, thoroughbred of a girl, this makes her torso look incredibly boxy and wide. Beautiful hue though.

Jessica Parre does Disney Princess and wins at it. LOVE this 50s inspired dress! LOVE her hair. Her shoes work because her hair is dark, altho perhaps I would have chosen jewelled black heels, especially since the dress is cut to show off your shoes.

  21. Mel September 23, 2013 at 13:49 #

Not bad but she can do much better

  22. Fanny September 23, 2013 at 16:22 #

I don’t mind the shoes but there’s just too much fabric in the boob-area.

  23. steph September 23, 2013 at 21:02 #

something about the fabric makes the dress look almost cheap…so wrinkly and looks poorly constructed. a bit disappointed in OdlR.

  24. Magdalena September 23, 2013 at 21:46 #

She was one of the most anticipated actresses for me at least, and I have to say I’m disappointed. She should’ve stuck to Jason Wu.
