Natalie Portman In Christian Dior Couture – New York City Ballet 2013 Fall Gala

Natalie Portman In Christian Dior Couture - New York City Ballet 2013 Fall Gala

Natalie Portman attended the New York City Ballet 2013 Fall Gala held at David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center in New York City alongside Sarah Jessica Parker.

The actress, who has kept somewhat of a low profile lately, looked beautiful wearing a look from Christian Dior’s Fall 2013 Couture collection.

Her tri-colour aqua-yellow-and-black strapless textured gown does an amazing job of making the petite star look so statuesque.

Black satin Dior accessories, Dior diamond drop earrings and smoky eyes completed her look.

Was this gown on your red carpet wish list? If so, does Natalie do justice to the look?

IMO, The brand, dress- just right for the LOVELY Natalie Portman.
The hair, the make up- I’m afraid not really- for Dior, or the dress or Portman.
Shame considering that a more minimal approach could’ve made this missed opportunity a memorable knockout

From afar, I might mistake her as Sandra Bullock as the hair makes her looks older but yes I like this dress on her! It’s weird that I disliked Dior collection on the runway but when celebrity wears them, turned out, wait a minute did I miss something, this one looks stunning.

Still waiting for someone to pull off this look tho.

      Surely you guest. 🙂

statuesque is the right word. She looks incredible. It’s been a while since I liked a Dior look that much

  4. H September 20, 2013 at 21:37 #

The dress is beautiful on her, and her eyes are gorgeous! Stunning look!

  5. gabis September 20, 2013 at 21:18 #

She looks great but the wristwatch is out of place and too casual and her hair could’ve been more polished.
Is it just me or does Dior really save the best pieces to Natalie Portman?

  6. Pablo September 20, 2013 at 21:07 #

This is weird. I’ve really hated most of the post-Galliano Dior collections on the runway but somehow I don’t hate them that much on the red carpet. I guess it’s something good.

Case on point: Natalie looks fresh and statuesque. Texture, bright colors… great look.

  7. Namel September 20, 2013 at 19:05 #

I looooved the dress and she works it greatly.

  8. Larissa September 20, 2013 at 17:51 #

She looks better than the model, I wouldn’t change a thing. She usually looks great in black but when she wears bright colours she’s simply divine.

  9. Prudence September 20, 2013 at 17:28 #

I miss her Rodarte days, her rc looks were a lot more interesting and beautiful.

  10. Nat39 September 20, 2013 at 17:27 #

Not a big fan of the gown, doesn’t particularly excite me, but Natalie looks good in it. The hair needed to be in an elegant updo.

  11. Petra September 20, 2013 at 16:23 #

So statuesque, there’s no other word for it ! + The color combo is so amazing.

  12. Rebecca Z September 20, 2013 at 15:53 #

This is just perfect. BDOTW and maybe of the year.

  13. Derro September 20, 2013 at 15:44 #

I LOVED this dress on the runway and was hoping to see Marion or JLaw pull it off. I presumed Natalie would be too petite to work this look – I was wrong! She looks statuesque and divine!!

  14. Suz September 20, 2013 at 15:40 #

    Absolutely love this on her!

  15. Carrie September 20, 2013 at 15:31 #

    So striking!

  16. ash September 20, 2013 at 14:58 #

wow finally a right Natalie Portman + Dior look! Love it!

  17. Pedro September 20, 2013 at 14:53 #

    She looks gorgeous!

  18. pipsqueak September 20, 2013 at 14:27 #

Divine! Natalie looks so much better than the model. The model may be tall, but she has no presence.

  19. Ana September 20, 2013 at 14:21 #

Yes, this was on my red carpet wish list, but I envisioned on Jennifer Lawrence. Natalie looks good, but doesn’t have the WOW factor that I was expecting from this beautiful gown!!

  20. EmmaWoodhouse September 20, 2013 at 14:16 #

Wow! I wasn’t impressed by the dress on the runway but for some reason Natalie is making me like it. She looks so tall and elegant!

    • KatieKate September 22, 2013 at 08:39 #

So true. This dress was not only wish list, as I found it lacking appeal and the texture was off-putting. But Natalie has manage to make e completely appreciate it. Her hair and m/up are flawless.

      • KatieKate September 22, 2013 at 08:39 #

        *only should be ‘on my’

  21. dee September 20, 2013 at 14:04 #

I like it but I am not wowed.

  22. AnderBoBo September 20, 2013 at 13:46 #

Quite lovely, the aqua is very complimentary to her skin tone. This is simple but striking.

  23. Christine September 20, 2013 at 13:28 #

She pulls this off. I like it

  24. Jess2 September 20, 2013 at 13:03 #

Wow, I love this and Natalie sure looks statuesque. Simple yet beautiful! A Dior look I don’t dislike, he’ll I like this more on Natalie than on the runway.

  25. Anne September 20, 2013 at 13:00 #

This dress makes her look a mile long! Great color on her, as well. I appreciate that she and Marion manage to represent Dior at the same time completely differently.

  26. Denise September 20, 2013 at 12:57 #

Love the colours, it’s something different from Natalie and she more than does it justice.

  27. Ramsay September 20, 2013 at 12:42 #

This is lovely – but I don’t why I find that hairstyle slightly ageing

  28. Iva September 20, 2013 at 12:25 #

She looks great even though I wanted to see someone more ‘statuesque’ in this dress.

  29. steph September 20, 2013 at 12:21 #

Actually height is really no issue, 160 is enough to pull off a runway look and look amazing.

I find some models who are perfect runway height and figure, they cannot pull off a gown, tends to look long and lean.

Like megan fox who is 163, she manages to look so tall and statuesque, this gown did natalie justice and natalie did it justice, amazing how important fashion proportion can make a difference.

  30. Jolene September 20, 2013 at 11:55 #

She looks really beautiful. For me, that was one of the most “difficult” dresses in the collection. She is working it really well.

    • Noemi September 20, 2013 at 15:52 #

I agree, it’s a dress difficult to pull off but she did it very well.

    • Magdalena September 20, 2013 at 18:36 #

Funnily, I think it’s one of the ‘easiest’. She looks good though,i just wish the waist was more defined.

      • Dean September 21, 2013 at 12:41 #

I agree with Magdalena, I think it’s one of the easiest to pull of from that collection.

  31. e September 20, 2013 at 11:44 #

I absolutely adore this look! She looks ravishing.

    • Yeliz September 20, 2013 at 21:58 #

+1. She is pulling this off, I have no complaints. BDOTW contender, if you ask me.

      • Rashmi September 21, 2013 at 11:23 #

Absolutely!!! This was there on my wishlist, and am happy someone wore it so beautifully to RC ! Natalie pulls this off amazingly. Love !

PS: am also happy to not see the usual Dior girls to wear this 😀

  32. jacks7123 September 20, 2013 at 11:44 #

    Just stunning!! Love this look.
