Maria Bello In Naeem Khan - 'Prisoners' LA Premiere

Maria Bello attended the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Prisoners’ held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, California yesterday evening.

The actress wore a Resort 2014 dress by one of my favourite designers, Naeem Khan.

Her black satin cocktail dress with a seashell-beaded tulle bodice and satin full skirt was styled with Martin Katz jewels and black Reed Krakoff pumps with a mesh detail.

A wavy bob gave her sophisticated look a youthful flourish.

I don’t particularly like it. Looking at the picture, I feel like she is missing something, earrings, something. I also don’t like the neckline and the way the skirt falls on her.

Agreed. The top makes her look boxy, and the skirt is awkward. To add to this, the runway sandal looks so much better, balancing out the dirndl-like volume of the skirt.

ps – that was weird – I have no idea who ‘shenton’ is. I post as Carolina, but this just autofilled (on my private laptop)!

Not sure if my first post was successful, but here’s what ‘shenton’ said. apologies for the duplication, if it is a duplication!

Nice, but something’s missing here for me too. I don’t quite know what it is, but FWIW the red lip on the model takes care of it for starters.

The bodice is beautiful (I love Naeem’s detailing! It’s so rich!) but the skirt is too deflated looking, and it wasn’t much better on the model. The material also has a bit of a cheap look to it, even though I’m sure it’s not. the shoes with mesh insert aren’t really working for me either, even though they are quite understated. I think a light embellishment would have been better.

I like this with some tweaks:

    -Different shoes
-The skirt needs to be hemmed to the length shown on the model. It’s too long now.
