Zhang Ziyi In Mikael D & Georges Hobeika Couture – ‘Lucky Star’ Press Conference & Premiere

Zhang Ziyi In Mikael D & Georges Hobeika - 'Lucky Star' Press Conference & Premiere

Zhang Ziyi wore two looks for both the press conference and premiere of her latest movie, ‘Lucky Star’, with only one look being a success in my eyes.

Press Conference: Her first look was a Mikael D Resort 2014 graphic-print dress with a cascade front which, with the right styling, could’ve been an interesting look. Tumbling curls and conservative pumps don’t really complement the edgy design.

Premiere: It was back to tried and true for the premiere, where the actress shone wearing a Georges Hobeika Fall 2013 Couture yellow strapless cocktail dress embroidered with delicate bows, flower-shaped paillettes and Swarovski crystals. If I was to be overly fussy I would say lose the necklace, but the shoes and hair work on this occasion as both complement her pretty frock.

Which look do you prefer?

I like both looks minus the shoes.

Her dress from the Press Conference looks like it’s vomiting itself up. Not a fan one bit.

I love everything about the second look except for the shoes.

Neither. The styling is off in the first look and both pairs of shoes should be burned. Not sure I like the color on her in the second look and the necklace is just wrong. A shame b/c both looks could have been outstanding.

I think the first dress is really interesting, but not executed well enough to be considered successful. Now the premiere look is undoubtedly beautiful, but it actually reminds me of an Elie Saab, not that that’s a bad thing, (well, except maybe for Elie Saab). And I don’t even mind the shoes too much. Sure, she could’be picked better ones, but they do complement the dress on this occasion.

Leehom Wang! He looked adorable, but the clothes were a letdown, as though they were stolen from someone else’s closet. He’s a talented musician. Would like to see you more on the red carpet, Leehom. Please dress better – you can afford it!
