Julia Roberts In Dolce & Gabbana – ‘August: Osage County’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Julia Roberts Dolce & Gabbana Toronto

Julia Roberts attended the ‘August: Osage County’ premiere during the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival held at Roy Thomson Hall yesterday evening in Toronto, Canada.

Wearing Dolce & Gabbana, the actress perhaps gave me the biggest shock of the year… even bigger than Dakota Fanning’s topknot yesterday.

Julia is firstly not wearing black and secondly not wearing a suit.

The all-black-wearing, suit-loving star delights wearing a rather cute Dolce & Gabbana red frock with lace embroidery detailing which she styled with nude accessories.

Her clothing choice may have changed but her pose, which is to ensure her hands are in front of her at all times, remains the same.

Gold leaf earrings and a loose updo completed her momentous look.

I’m glad that she opted for a dress and colour and she did something with her hair, but I think the dress should have been a little longer or, even better, knee length and fitted.

This is far too twee for her. I only like the colour.

+1. The color is great, but this is too twee for her !

She looks almost excatly like Jennifer Garner few days ago. I like them both.

I’ll have black and suit over this ANY DAY. I’ve been missing you, Julia, but… no.

This is bad. The dress is unflattering, the hair is drab and the styling is uninspiring!

    The dress doesn’t fit well.

She definitely looks better with black and suits. I know that stepping out of one’s comfort zone is a good thing, but I don’t like her with this dress, which has been hemmed very bad.

its very ill fitting on the top half..makes everything look saggy and frump. BIG MISTAKE…HUGE!

    • Irina September 11, 2013 at 16:35 #

Agreed – the dress is frumly looking and is a completely wrong and too young for her.

I don’t think that this is that bad. Whilst I agree that this is a bit too twee for her, I still think that she looks great. Red suits her.

I agree. Also, I think this might look quite a bit better if her arms were to her sides. The dress would look more balanced, she more confident and poised. Part of me is happy she gave us something unexpected, and the other part of me is disappointed she didn’t do a better job of it since this will likely be the last exciting thing we’ll see from her for another long while.

    Not flattering at all.

The dress is not her best choice, but I do like the color and the fact that it is not a suit. She is phoning it in fashion-wise–just looks like she has other things she enjoys a lot more than dressing up for appearances.
