Keira Knightley In Valentino Couture – Valentino Ball

Keira Knightley In Valentino Couture - Valentino Ball

Keira Knightley and her husband James Righton (in Valentino) attended the Valentino Ball held at Palazzo Volpi during the 2013 Venice Film Festival on Wednesday evening.

The British actress of course wore a look from the latest Valentino Fall 2013 Couture collection, selecting a sheer long-sleeved gown with gold-leaf embroidery and a layered neckline.

Some may have opted for more coverage, wearing a bodysuit or layering the look from top to bottom, but Keira wore the dreamy autumnal piece as presented with a bralet and hot pants.

Taking some inspiration from the runway, she styled her hair into a centre-parted ‘do with a few face-framing tendrils opting out of the single braid.

Keira will be premiering her latest movie, ‘Can A Song Save Your Life?’, during Toronto Film Festival tomorrow so the question is can she outdo herself?

I think she is spectacular. The delicate gold-leaf embroidery is gorgeous, and Keira is totally doing this exqusite creation justice, she creates the right mood for this look with her styling and persona.

Couldn’t agree more. She truly looks spectacular. LOVE it head to toe. BDOTW if not BDOTY.

+2 Love this on Kiera, especially that the dress hits the floor just so. Everything, perfection!!!

She looks drop dead gorgeous and the gown is divine too, but i’m more intrigued by her handsome husband and his “cool guy” attitude, i love it !

  3. Emmeline September 6, 2013 at 17:50 #

    Stunning!

It’s great to see a full length picture of the dress. Up until now everything I’d seen was waist-up.

  4. dee September 6, 2013 at 18:09 #

    Gorgeous!!!

  5. Noemi September 6, 2013 at 18:17 #

They both look beautiful. She’s the perfect Valentino girl.

  6. Kimi September 6, 2013 at 18:32 #

I love this! For such a slight woman she pulls this off without making it look heavy on her. She looks divine and so ethereal!

  7. Ilaria September 6, 2013 at 18:40 #

She is perfection in person! She is classy, gorgeous, elegant and fortunately she hasn’t layered it. It is a spectacular gown as it is! I prefer Keira’s from Diane’s gown! Surely a BDOTW contender! I’ll vote for her!

    • KatieKate September 9, 2013 at 02:58 #

I, too, am glad she didn’t layer it, although it does appear quite a bit less sheer than on the runway, which I think is a good thing. She does look divine–absolutely everything this dress should be. But, I actually prefer Diane’s by just a tad. This is still BDOTW worthy, though.

  8. Jolene September 6, 2013 at 18:54 #

She looks splendid. Regal. I think that any lining (for this specific event I mean)would ruin this creation.

  9. Glenda September 6, 2013 at 18:55 #

Nobody does Valentino quite like Keira does… Swoon!

I’m hoping she gets to wear this gown soon, too:

Surely it was made for her? She’d look divine.

    • Ilaria September 6, 2013 at 23:04 #

I hope too! This gown and the silver one from the same collection!!

    • KatieKate September 9, 2013 at 03:00 #

Oh yes, I will second that nomination!

  10. Lyo September 6, 2013 at 18:55 #

    *sighs*
I’m so tired of hotpants… when this fashion is going to fade???

  11. Alex September 6, 2013 at 19:05 #

No-one wears Valentino better! She looks beautiful

  12. Christine September 6, 2013 at 19:28 #

Omg!!!!! Chills!!!! BDOTY!!!!!! I am speechless. Catherine!!!!! She looks jaw dropping utterly gorgeous. She is my BDOTW!!!

  13. Christine September 6, 2013 at 19:28 #

    BDOTY!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Serena September 6, 2013 at 19:43 #

She looks like perfection, really. I can’t wait to see what she’s going to wear tomorrow! Though part of me wishes to see her in another designer other than Valentino (and Chanel).

  15. Marybeth September 6, 2013 at 20:04 #

    Absolutely gorgeous!
But I don’t understand why people are saying that it isn’t lined. She has not only lined the skirt front in black but also the yoke — though it has been done selectively and lightly.
Her version keeps all the beauty of the original but loses the negligee-over-granny-pants look. It’s a huge improvement. I love it.

    • CreoleLady September 7, 2013 at 10:14 #

Yes, this outfit does appear selectively lined, at least in this lighting. I hope it is also lined in the back. I’m reserving judgment without seeing back and sides. If I saw the original on the red carpet, it would be trashy granny panties couture no matter who was wearing it.

    • KatieKate September 9, 2013 at 03:03 #

I agree, I wasn’t sure if it was lined, or just made from a more opaque fabric. But, either way, it is much less sheer, which I find favorable.

  16. Betelgeuze September 6, 2013 at 20:17 #

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. How does she do it? It’s just perfect. Dark and delicate and she works the hell out of it.
Putting this on my BDOTY list.

  17. Rebecca Z September 6, 2013 at 20:36 #

She looks beautiful and I love the overdress, but I still don’t like the sheer dress over bra and big panties look. I don’t really see what you gain from it except a little titilation.

  18. Ben September 6, 2013 at 20:51 #

    BDOTY.

  19. Badaboum September 6, 2013 at 20:54 #

Maybe it’s the choice of picture, but I really don’t see what is so spectacular… I have seen her look much better than this.

      ITA.

  20. Prudence September 6, 2013 at 21:01 #

This Valentino collection was a mess to me but Keira does look nice. Nice, nothing more grand than that. She wears these long sleeve lace gowns with high necks all the time so I really cannot say its an amazing look, its a repeat of a 1000 other of her RC moments.

  21. Yeliz September 6, 2013 at 21:04 #

This is simply stunning. This is the best example of how a sheer gown can look classy. Her styling is flawless and she is a certain BDOTW nominee. Her husband looks very cool and dapper.

  22. Eni September 6, 2013 at 21:53 #

    Stunning! BDOTW!

  23. Namel September 6, 2013 at 21:54 #

Love it. Perfect hair and styling. I thought it was the light that made the underwear less visible but then i show her chest it is obvious that it is lined. It looks waaaay better that way. I just wish we had photos with more movement and less mannequin-like.

  24. Pedro September 7, 2013 at 00:01 #

    Keira looks perfect, again!

    BDOTW

  25. elliex September 7, 2013 at 00:38 #

This is nice but its just so typical keira that i dobt care. She looks lovely but i am so sick of seeing underwear through dresses and geez keiras wearing too much eyeliner.

  26. Natalie September 7, 2013 at 01:33 #

Absolutely magnificent. I singled this dress out when the Valentino Couture collection came out and thought she was the only one who could pull it off and I’m so thrilled she did wear it after all!

  27. Dhppy September 7, 2013 at 02:11 #

Very nice. I’m curious about how the dress is lined. It seems the front panel is more lined than the sides, especially from the waist down. Fascinating look.

  28. Iva September 7, 2013 at 09:16 #

I’m not sure who I prefer more: Keira or her husband :)
It’s definitely Keira at her best!

  29. lila September 8, 2013 at 00:46 #

    Just one word: Goddess! BDOTY.

  30. kane September 10, 2013 at 11:21 #

Not her best look, but I like it.
