Katy Perry channeled her inner flower child for an appearance on ‘Good Morning America’ today at the ABC Times Square Studios in New York City, where she unveiled the artwork for her new ‘Prism’ album.
The ‘Roar’ songstress skipped the animal print, instead waltzing through a veritable field of daisies with a Moschino Cheap & Chic Resort 2014 fit-and-flare, floral frock.
While conservative Katy has surfaced on more than one recent occasion, the quirk was back with this look, given her styling, with the exception of her pretty, softer-toned makeup.
Where to start?
Perhaps I would have more affection for those literal Heidi braids and giant hoop earrings, if they had not been offset by what was happening below the hem of the dress.
Schoolgirl knee socks and clunky plum Dr. Martens boots completely stole the show here—and not in the most chic way.

Whatever to the age haters? She doesn’t look like she’s approaching 30 so I say go for it. I wish she chose between the braids or the Doc Martens/socks combo. That would’ve worked. She still looks young and beautiful. 😀
What the h*ll….
No one over the age of 13 should wear something like this.
The hair and knee socks are ridiculous. I can get on board with the Doc Martens (they wouldn’t have been my first choice, but they do add some unexpected edge) but not those two.
Really too bad. The dress is cute but the rest is just so flat.
Katy of course. The outfit made me forget how to spell.
Oh Katie, what happened? Maybe Lady Gaga left too much of her aura on the New York streets and Katie ran into it. Whatever happened, I hope she goes back to quirky but not crazy Katie.
Funny, but plausible!
Bad styling. Girl no
A lot of her promo styling has had a 90’s influence which might explain the dress and Docs which could have been cute on their own with different hair, but the rest of this look is a total disjointed mess.
This has to be one of her worst looks. I REALLY prefer the quirk-free Katy.
Me too! This one is really bad!
…does she know that she is approaching 30 and get ups like these are totally unacceptable past 18.
Agree! This is totally a make it stop, act your age moment. Doc Martens, really??? Not trying to be an ageist here but, not the time or the place.
This looks like something I would’ve worn as a kid in the 90s. Daisies and knee highs and boots.
I think that’s the point which seems sad in a try-hard way
This is the second look I have seen her ear recently that looks like it was salvaged from my junior high closet. I don’t care for anything here, and it’s such a bummer b/c I have long been a Katy supporter/defender when it came to her fashion choices, but I just can’t get behind this. :©
How sad, she was doing so well.
I agree. I don’t understand why she tries so hard to do quirky when simple, elegant, polished looks work so much better for her.
