Maria Sharapova joined Jessica Paré and Nicole Richie on the red carpet at the Lincoln Center in New York City for the 2013 Style Awards.
The tennis star, who was forced out of the US open due to a shoulder injury, was able to concentrate on her second love – fashion.
Working a clean, crisp, summery look to the fullest, she wore a silver-embellished white sleeveless top with a sequinned skirt featuring a wrap-style silhouette and solid back panel from Preen’s Spring 2013 collection.
Taupe Louboutin pumps wouldn’t have been my first choice. I wish she’d opted for something as light and delicate as her ensemble. I hear a thud when I come to her footwear.

The shoes are boring for sure, but they don’t bother me that much. She looks classy and beautiful.
So much more exciting on the runway. Her ensemble is too plain and boring esp. teamed with those taupe pumps.
Ankles up this is nice, though not terribly exciting.
I am getting a case of deja vu.
Shoes are not working. Dress is nice.
” I hear a thud when I come to her footwear.”
Nice writing.
Exactly. That thud is the sound of my heart dropping with disappointment. Bad shoes are celebs’ kryptonite.
I agree about the shoes. From the ankles up this is light, beautiful and classy.
