2013 Couture Council Artistry of Fashion Award Luncheon honoring Michael Kors

2013 Couture Council Fashion Visionary Awards

The 2013 Couture Council Artistry of Fashion Award luncheon, hosted by The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology and honoring Michael Kors, brought out a stylish bunch of Michael Kors-clad event-goers to the David H. Koch Theater at New York City’s Lincoln Center on Wednesday.

Hilary Swank: The actress stood out in a flashy, aqua leopard-print fit-and-flare dress and black python sandals, both from the Michael Kors Resort 2014 collection. A black elongated, reptilian-like clutch from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection completed the animal instinct.

Michael Kors: Surrounded by some of his leading fashion ladies, the designer was casual-cool in a basic, all-black look, with a blazer, T-shirt and trousers. His signature shades were present and accounted for, naturally.

Anna Wintour: The ‘Vogue’ editrix kept up chic appearances and paid homage to the guest of honor in a custom Michael Kors micro-print frock, styled with sunnies and her favourite Manolo Blahnik sandals.

Iman: Also working the leopard print, the model-mogul wore a patterned reefer coat, worn over a black shirt and suntan trousers, all from the Michael Kors Resort 2014 collection. Oversized sunglasses topped off the safari-sophisticated effect.

Lily Aldridge: The model strutted out a Resort 2014 ensemble, hers a pink carnation cashmere knit top, which was accessorized with a suntan belt and paired with a matching suntan, slit skirt edged in the same carnation colour. Lorraine Schwartz jewels completed the look.

Doutzen Kroes: Showing us yet another spotted, Resort 2014 look, the model posed in a micro-leopard-print frock. Nude-and-black Celine cutout shoe boots added some edge to the simple lines of the dress.

Chanel Iman: The catwalker slipped into a rose-coloured, body-con dress with a cross-back detail, accessorized with a black clutch and ankle-strap sandals, all from the Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2013 collection. The Michael Kors Collection ‘Taylor’ elongated clutch seemed a bit big for this streamlined statement.

Harley Viera Newton: The model-DJ dressed up the luncheon in black-and-nude lace with a strapless, bustier dress and cashmere lace cardigan from the Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2013 collection. A belt and black cat-eye shades slightly lessened the formality of the cocktail look. You may remember that Olivia Munn wore this same dress with a different colour bustier.

Alina Cho: The American journalist didn’t wear Michael Kors, instead selecting a Marni satin-twill, A-line skirt that featured a woodland print. She skipped the matching, nature-inspired top, instead wearing a nude, sleeveless shirt. A metallic Edie Parker clutch, gold bangles, and yet another pair of bold sunnies, topped off this ensemble.
