Alexa Chung In Carven – GQ Men of the Year Awards

Alexa Chung In Carven - GQ Men of the Year Awards

Alexa Chung took to the red carpet at The Royal Opera House in London this evening for the 2013 GQ Men Of The Year Awards.

The British star wore a Carven Fall 2013 long-sleeved metallic faille top and matching skirt in a light-blue hue, which she disappointingly, but not surprisingly, styled with black pumps.

My favourite part of this look is her Chanel Perspex chain-accented clutch in the shape of a Chanel No. 5 bottle from the Resort 2014 collection.

Normally one to scream for a pop of colour, I think the red lips are too stark for this look on this occasion.

Do you agree?

When did Alexa Chung become an astronaut?! I almost wish her purse looked like a mini space helmet or spaceship or something. At least then, there would be some sly humor to this outfit.

      +1! Terrible fabric.

sleek ponytail, art deco pumps will totally help working the dress…
She can keep the red lipstick.. though it have been better if it’s slightly darker for futuristic minimalist impact.
    Love the clutch too ;)

Her hair looks boring (as usual)!

Why is Alexa Chung a style icon or someone relevant in fashion world? She always wears the same black dresses and the same black pumps (and sometimes white shirts and black pants). She should be recognize as a tv host and that’s it.

I almost forgot… And she also wears this!!

        I kinda agree.

omg preach that please!!!! She is the most overrated person in the fashion industry. Her style is soo basic and yet they love to label her as this fashion goddess. She always looks a mess to me.

Agreed. I can’t remember a time when I liked one of her looks. She always looks forgettable, if not bad.

Agree. Never understood the big deal with her. She always looks sloppy.

I also agree that her style is probably the most average of anyone in the fashion world. I don’t get it AT ALL.

However, this actually interests me, for a change. Granted, her hair and shoes are awful. But the skirt set is cool and different, and she can pull it off b/c she’s SO thin. I could see this adding bulk to most. And , of course, that clutch is everything.

Oddly enough, I really like this look. The fabric is interesting, and I actually don’t find the red lips too severe. I agree about her clutch, it’s definitely on my if-only-I-were-an-heiress-wishlist ;)

This dress is ugly and her styling is boring.

The only thing I like here is the awesome clutch.

Reminds me of my childhood when we’d make costumes for ourselves out of aluminum foil. I liked ours better.
