Gia Coppola’s Weekend At Venice Film Festival

Gia Coppola's Weekend At Venice Film Festival

Gia Coppola took to the red carpet several times over the weekend attending events during the 2013 Venice Film Festival.

Art of Elysium’s ‘Child of God’ and ‘Palo Alto’ event: On Saturday the writer-director kick-started proceedings wearing an off-the-shoulder Christopher Kane Fall 2013 black velvet loop-tape dress featuring a nude lining we didn’t see on the runway. Black sandals and a black clutch with gold hardware completed her look.

‘Palo Alto’ photocall: The following day Gia opted for a head-to-toe Proenza Schouler look, selecting a black-and-white zigzag tweed dress with a small keyhole detail paired with black python pumps, both from the Resort 2014 collection. While the first look was sexy, this one has a youthful vibe. It’s interesting how she’s opted for two edgy designers, yet selected easy-to-wear pieces.

‘Palo Alto’ premiere: For the premiere on Sunday evening Gia couldn’t have looked more like her aunt Sofia, wearing a classic suit by Saint Laurent styled with a white blouse and black bow tie, keeping the makeup fresh and neutral for her borrowed-from-the-boys look.

Vanity Fair 10th Anniversary Celebrations: For her after-dark look, Gia wore a sexy Zac Posen strapless frock with a below-the-knee trumpet hemline and geometric folded detail at the bodice. Still opting for makeup in a neutral colour palette, she once again opted for black accessories, this time wearing black sandals and a satin clutch. You may remember that Naya Rivera wore this same dress back in April.

Of all these looks, the Saint Laurent is my favourite. I feel like this is more her style. The Zac Posen was my second favourite for pure sex appeal – something Zac Posen is a master at.
