Dakota Fanning In Elie Saab Couture – ‘Night Moves’ Venice Film Festival Premiere

Dakota Fanning In Elie Saab Couture - 'Night Moves' Venice Film Festival Premiere

Following the photocall, Dakota Fanning attended the ‘Night Moves’ Venice Film Festival premiere on Saturday evening, held at the Palazzo del Cinema in Venice, Italy.

The blonde actress gave us our first look at the Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture collection off the runway.

Her beautiful navy sleeveless deep v-neck fully embellished ballgown styled with rings from Rona Pfeiffer and Cathy Waterman couldn’t be more fitting for the glamorous occasion – so it’s a shame that everything from the neck up feels like groundhog day.

I really liked that dress but I’m disappointed now. I was expecting someone else to wear it and style it better.

She’s pretty. The dress is awesome. But they don’t work good together. She doesn’t have the presence to carry it.

The dress is fabulous and she’s beautiful but it does overwhelms. Also, it reminded me very much of the Valentino gown she wore for the Breaking Dawn Pt.2 NY Premiere except she was brunette back then and this Elie Saab has much more pomp.

      • gabis September 1, 2013 at 03:35 #

        ***overwhelms her

  3. Pedro September 1, 2013 at 00:58 #

    She looks amazing!

  4. Emmeline September 1, 2013 at 01:00 #

Gorgeous dress. It’s a shame she was too lazy to change up her hair and makeup, otherwise it would have been a great look.

    • dee September 1, 2013 at 16:31 #

I agree. She makes this look boring.

  5. Mandy September 1, 2013 at 02:32 #

That colour is gorgeous on her. If she had worn her hair in an elegant updo this could have been a real ‘wow’ moment.

  6. Aline September 1, 2013 at 03:41 #

Wow, look how the dress perfectly matches her eyes! She looks so beautiful I don’t even mind the same old hair. BDOTW contender to me.

    • Denise September 2, 2013 at 07:38 #

Exquisite ! Love everything about it including the hair.

  7. Alex V September 1, 2013 at 05:00 #

I really wanted to see this dress in a taller person, I think that’s why I don’t like it on her.

  8. Vince September 1, 2013 at 05:00 #

She looks awesome!!! The dress is flawless and the style is working for me. Much improved from her previous red carpet looks.

I think she looks pretty spectacular. Great color for her.

I was 99% sure that she was going to wear one of the blue gowns from this collection.

I love the gown, but I think it overwhelmes her petite frame.
Also, I don’t understand her allergy to updos.

Love the gown, but she needed to do something with her hair. I think it would look great on Florence Welch, with her skin tone and hair colour.

  12. TL September 1, 2013 at 07:09 #

Love it, the navy blue is perfect for her. She looks stunning. I don’t mind the hair, as she keep it simple.

  13. G September 1, 2013 at 07:38 #

I think this is the best she ever looked. Of course the hair is a disappointment, but I can forgive it since I love everything else. The colour is great against her skin tone, and the ring is a nice addition.

Completely agree with everything you said. And this is how you do side boob! BDOTW. She looks like a freaking princess, (lack of low, loose bun notwithstanding).

    • kane September 1, 2013 at 13:42 #

I agree with you although I’m also missing the belt.

  14. Cass September 1, 2013 at 08:22 #

    BDOTW!

  15. Jai September 1, 2013 at 08:46 #

She looks lovely. My favourite moment from her is still that coral gucci she wore. That was such a perfect outfit.

  16. Noemi September 1, 2013 at 10:04 #

The dress is gorgeous, but I would like to see it on someone who has a better sense of style.

  17. Yeliz September 1, 2013 at 11:26 #

I fell in love with this gown when I saw it on the runway. I did feel a bit disappointed, when I saw Dakota wearing it, because I wanted to see it on someone taller, who would pull this off with an ease. Dakota does look gorgeous though. My problem is that the gown doesn’t look as magical as on the runway anymore. She should’ve worn the belt too and an updo was so necessary on this occasion. Overall I’m happy to see her looking glamorous, but I wouldn’t mind to see this breathtaking gown on the red carpet again, this time with better styling.

    • Marybeth September 1, 2013 at 22:47 #

      Agree on all points!

  18. Neli September 1, 2013 at 12:10 #

    boring hair

  19. dee September 1, 2013 at 16:38 #

The dress is too much for her. The hair and makeup are too casual for this dressy gown. Her styling is boring.

  20. Joana September 1, 2013 at 18:24 #

    Criminally beautiful.

  21. Susan September 1, 2013 at 20:10 #

    Wow. Love it on Dakota.

  22. keel September 1, 2013 at 23:23 #

Oh how I adore this dress!!! I wish Dakota had done it more justice…

  23. Prudence September 2, 2013 at 00:03 #

Amazing dress, wrong person. This is so sad because this dress will never get its big moment now that she wore it.

  24. Christine September 2, 2013 at 02:40 #

She looks gorgeous but I am tired of her same old hairstyle.

  25. Natalie September 2, 2013 at 03:33 #

beautiful dress on the wrong girl— horrible posture, horrible hair and i don’t know if she’s wearing heels but she’s not the right height, or it could be helped if she did her hair.

I hope someone else gets to wear this dress and do it better. Horrible.

  26. Laura September 2, 2013 at 03:59 #

an up-do would have made this look magnifique!

  27. Marko_M September 2, 2013 at 11:21 #

She looks stunning, but I prefer her riskier RC outings.

  28. marcia September 2, 2013 at 15:27 #

I feel so mean when nearly everytime I see her on a red carpet I’m sad that a dress has been wasted on her. Sometimes I feel Elie Saab must just sigh, knowing another beautiful dress will be forgotten once she chooses it.

  29. Kathy September 2, 2013 at 21:56 #

The hair is a let-down, but she still looks gorgeous. I love the ring, and I’m glad she ditched the belt as it felt too casual and out of place for a ball gown.
