Sandra Bullock In J. Mendel – ‘Gravity’ Venice Film Festival Premiere

Sandra Bullock In J Mendel - 'Gravity' Venice Film Festival Premiere

Sandra Bullock attended the opening ceremony of the 2013 Venice Film Festival, which also served as the ‘Gravity’ premiere, at the Palazzo del Cinema in Venice, Italy this evening.

The cheesy line from the Ferrero Rocher ads, “Ambassador, you are really spoiling us”, really sprang to mind when I saw Sandra wearing this J. Mendel Resort 2014 red gown because this is the actress’s second colourful look of the day.

On most, this would’ve been a regular day, but for Sandy it’s a momentous occasion.

She wore a fiery red silk strapless bustier gown with asymmetrical draping, which she styled with Martin Katz jewels and Roger Vivier black accessories including a ‘Night’ tube clutch and ‘Smoking’ ankle-strap sandals with a bow-front accent.

While I had my fingers and toes crossed for a flowing train, I can’t fault her efforts on this occasion, even if in my heart of hearts I believe the shoes are a tad too clunky for the look.

Looked better on the model. Usually her hair is always down but the one time she puts it up, i wish it was down. The models shoes were a better choice too

Hope to see this in BDOTW.

I’m glad she’s wearing color, but I’m not wowed. I like the shoes, just not with this gown.

Kate Beckinsale at the Met Ball…that’s all I can see here

I actually like the shoes – much more than those from the look-book.
However, I’m not that impressed with the overall look. It’s ok, but nothing special.

I LOVE the shoes! They give the dress some edge. I’m on the fence about the clutch. A little less eccentrically long one would have done as well for me, but it gets a pass. She looks great!

Just got back from short vacation and I bump into Sandra Bullock wearing an awesome red dress and Clooney shaved that aging beard. Thank God for Venice !

I wanted her to go a little glamour like she does at the Oscars (in Elie Saab, Jenny Packham or smth), but I still can appreciate this look which has a cool vibe.
Also, I’m happy that she opted for colour at this festival.

P.S.: She and Mr. Clooney look quite dashing together.

WOW. I kinda like the shoes with the look, she looks amazing! Can’t believe she’s almost 50 years old

So glad S. Bullock is embracing color like this. I’m distracted by the model though, wondering if those are the shoes Jessica Biel wore with her lace D&G look earlier this week.

I think she looks A-MAZING! And I love the shoe choice. They suit her shoe style 🙂

I didn’t like the dress at first but it has grown on me. She looks gorgeous, sophisticated and at ease. What more could you want.

I love Sandy so much but I don’t like this dress at all. The color is nice and I like the shape of it but I hate the fabric plus it looks a little too generic.

In love with everything about this. She looks gorgeous h2t!

Another flawless winning look from Sandra. I love the hair, makeup, accessories. She looks incredible. If it was up to me I’d put both of her looks to BDOTW.
I don’t mind the shoes. I even think they look better than the look book ones.

I really wanted to love it, but I just don’t. Those shoes are indeed too clunky, her hair doesn’t look good and the dress is not really that interesting. It’s not a bad look, but it’s not memorable either.

  21. AnderBoBo August 28, 2013 at 23:12 #

The dress, hair/makeup and clutch are all working in perfect harmony…. the shoes just seem like such an odd, jarring choice.

  22. Christine August 28, 2013 at 23:09 #

She looks nice but I am not wowed.

  23. Yeliz August 28, 2013 at 23:02 #

So, I actually thought that she’ll wear a big gown since this is the opening ceremony, but I really like this dress. It looks great on her. Even though I like the shoes, I think the accessories are a tad too harsh. Overall I prefer the photocall look, but thumbs up for this one too.

I love the shoes! makes the whole look super cool…a bit of punk. I like the classic red carpet look with the bit of leg and tough shoe added

    • Mandy August 28, 2013 at 23:47 #

Agreed, at first i didn’t like the shoes but they rapidly grew on me. I think they add to, rather than detract from the overall look.

    • Noemi August 29, 2013 at 08:51 #

I agree, with you. I think she looked amazing, I like everything about this look;and I saw the red carpet, she’s been very kind, signed lots of autographed.
