Lily Collins In Whistles – The Ivy

Lily Collins In Whistles - The Ivy

Lily Collins was spotted arriving at The Ivy in London yesterday evening following her ‘Meet The Actors’ event at the Regent Street Apple Store.

The young actress confidently works summer’s crop top trend once again; this is actually her fourth crop top in a month, following her Comic-Con appearance, Chicago Mall meet and greet, and most recently the Flaunt magazine party.

On all those occasions she wore a skirt; here she dons leather pants.

The dark-green-hued carrot-leg trousers from British retailer Whistles add a chic touch to her laidback top for the perfect after-dark look.

Giuseppe Zanotti black satin pumps and a gold Giuseppe Zanotti clutch accessorized her look while beauty-wise she worked a hot-red lip and simple updo.

How have you been working the crop top trend this season?

I don’t mind crop tops, but this one looks like a saree blouse, minus the saree! :-O

I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it. That style of pants is extremely difficult to pull off, and she does. The crop top is a good balance. Her makeup is great too, and I like that she pulled her hair back. Different shoes would’ve been better.

I don’t mind the crop top on someone her age and build, but those pants are hideous. If you must wear baggy pants, please don’t make them leather! As Rebecca Z says, you need material that will drape nicely for that cut to work.

I think she looks kind of cute. My only problem is the pants are too stiff–if the leather were softer and draped better the outfit would work better. But this is a young trendy look for her and I like the idea.

Hmmmm, the wrong kind of simplicity (moving on to the Cate post for the right kind), too bad.

I think she pulls this off but I am tired of seeing cropped tops.

The crop top trend needs to die a quick death as far as I’m concerned. We’re not in the 90s and most of us aren’t 13.

This. Right here. I can appreciate a crop top with high waisted items, but it still needs to go away. Most regular people cannot do this in their daily lives. I can’t wear a crop top to my job!

I’d love this if the pants were more fitted.
