Cate Blanchett In Roksanda Ilincic – ‘Blue Jasmine’ Sydney Premiere

Cate Blanchett In Roksanda Ilincic - 'Blue Jasmine' Sydney Premiere

Cate Blanchett arrived at the Hayden Cremorne Orpheum in Sydney, Australia this evening for the ‘Blue Jasmine’ premiere.

Sticking to the summery colour palette that has served her so well during this promo tour, the actress delights wearing a Roksanda Illincic short-sleeved dress in a two-tone coral hue.

The dress features the designer’s signature folded neckline which Cate decided not to overbear with accessories, keeping it sweet and simple with gold Christian Louboutin ‘Sylvette’ sandals and a dark-pink lip colour to prevent the colour of her dress from washing her out.

I love the simplicity of this look. She carries it so effortlessly and gracefully, as one would expect.

With Oscar buzz surrounding her performance in this movie, we hopefully have a whole awards season full of breathtaking looks from Cate ahead of her.

That colour is stunning on her.

    Perfection!

Right??? “Cate the Great” continues to earn her title. Beautifully effortless!

Ahh. She’s like insanely beautiful. I adore this!

Ahhhhh. These times when the first picture on the blog is a classy woman in a gorgeous dress with perfect styling *sigh*. Absolutely perfect color and divine fabric.

Oscar buzz or not come awards season (but I’m sure there will) – don’t forget we still have The Hobbit premieres in December, FC.

And we all know your reactions to last year’s premieres! It’s like Cannes but just for Cate.

This is lovely. I am glad she chose this color.

Flawless. Absolut perfection in its simplicity.

      +1

This is divine. Love the color on her

She looks effortless, relaxed, lovely. She’s chosen the colour well, although on its own (i.e. not meant on her) I find the black and mint interesting as well.

I wish she wore an interesting shoe.

  11. Mick August 20, 2013 at 14:45 #

She would look great and elegant in pretty much anything, but unlike everyone else here I don’t particularly love this dress or color

ITA. A bit too boring for me.

Great look–much prefer Cate’s version to the one from the lookbook. Graceful and she looks comfortable. A simple earring would have dressed it up a little without messing up the neckline impact.

    • dee August 20, 2013 at 16:22 #

      I agree about the earrings.

  13. AnderBoBo August 20, 2013 at 15:14 #

She looks radiant as usual, I kind of wish she would have opted for the runway version as I think that green color would be glorious on her.

  14. Anj August 20, 2013 at 16:12 #

The color is stunning but she could’ve totally pulled off the runway version. Those colors are just so striking. I think I also prefer the length of the runway dress too.

Trust me, Cate deserves the Oscar – and any other award come awards season – for her breathtaking performance in Blue Jasmine, so here’s hoping. Armani Privé galore!

This Roksanda Ilincic collection never stood out to me on the runway – it just looked a bit, I don’t know, drab – but my God has Cate managed to breathe new life into it! She looks absolutely divine – basically, she’s glowing.

Soft and lovely but nothing to get excited about, rather bland and forgettable.

  17. Prudence August 20, 2013 at 20:48 #

this isn’ta very flattering fit, the color isn’t great against her skin and her hair is rather bland. Overall very forgettable.

  18. TeaAtTwo August 20, 2013 at 22:21 #

She looks nice but I think a belt/waistband in a contrasting colour would have been great.

On video she looked amazing as the dress flowed around her so effortlessly. The colour is perfect on her and her makeup and hair as always are immaculate. Love this.

I think that if just about anyone else wore this, we’d be severely underwhelmed. But leave it to Cate to do magic with a look that may otherwise be bland. I love the color, the fabric, the cut, the makeup, everything. Saying a prayer that she gets nominated for every single award possible so we can see her on the RC ad finitum!!!

    • KatieKate August 21, 2013 at 01:27 #

      Oh yeah, BDOTW nom.

  21. Tatiana August 21, 2013 at 02:42 #

Wow! She truly looks gorgeous (but that’s granted), even if it a very simple dress she kind of make it seem special.

  22. Charlotte August 21, 2013 at 02:44 #

I like her version more than the one in the runway. It looks fresh and sleek without being boring.

  23. Denise August 21, 2013 at 07:09 #

I adore Kate, she looks so beautiful here, but I don’t like this dress. It does nothing for her, it is shapeless and looks like a robe. I think this is a rare miss from her.

  24. Kathy August 21, 2013 at 20:13 #

Certainly not her best look to date, but still great. My only complaint is that the peach hue brings out the red tone in her skin in a sort of unflattering way. Other than that, I do like the silhouette of the dress.
