Best Dressed Of The Week – Zhang Ziyi in Vionnet, Lily Collins in Houghton & Ashley Madekwe in Diane Von Furstenberg

BDOTW 1

It was a tie this week, as you couldn’t decide between Zhang Ziyi’s bright-orange Vionnet frock and Lily Collins’ backless Houghton gown.

The looks couldn’t be more different: Ziyi’s was sexy and flirty, while Lily’s possessed an ethereal goddess quality.

My pick was Ashley Madekwe in her Diane von Furstenberg jumpsuit, you won’t be surprised to learn. Even though I hate this word, the best word to sum up this look is ‘fierce’, feline fierce, with plenty of sex appeal and attitude to boot, with impeccable styling and flawless makeup putting the icing on this tasty cake.

Our menswear choices differed too. You went for the sleek suaveness of Liam Hemsworth in his ice-blue suit, whereas Robert Sheehan in his paisley-print Dent De Man suit was always going to be a winner for me.

AGREED!I voted for Ashley and Robert, too.

Ziyi’s look didn’t register strongly with me, just another cute little dress, I barely remembered it by the end of the week. Lily looked so pretty and angelic but we’ve seen this type of lace gown so many times, it was nothing out of the ordinary, not to mention that it looked “dated bridal” quite a bit.
Liam looked very nice in his light blue suit but the look is a bit too basic with his standard white shirt-black belt/shoes presentation, on a bdotw winning level I like to see more detail/finishing touches (like an addition of a pocket square for a sans-tie look, for ex.)

Ashley and Robert were clearly the two with the winning edge for me as well.

Yay for Lily! And Ashley was my runner up, so I’m glad she was chosen as well. Robert was my choice also, and Liam was my runner up. So it is a literal flip flop.
