InStyle Summer Soiree 2013

InStyle Summer Soiree

There were many more lovely ladies who attended the InStyle Summer Soiree held at the Mondrian Los Angeles in West Hollywood, California yesterday evening.

Darby Stanchfield: The ‘Scandal’ actress instantly caught my eye, not only because of the striking contrast between her gorgeous flame-red beehive and electric-blue drop-waist Paper London dress, but mostly because of her pronounced eyebrows, which gave the look a futuristic vibe, further punctuated by her sculptural Kzeniya clutch and Emporio Armani silver pumps.

Ashley Tisdale: Although this sleeveless Clover Canyon ‘Orchid Trip’ neoprene dress is very much expected from Ashley, I love the soft pastel pieces styled with the look. The black clutch is very much the odd man out here.

Analeigh Tipton: The actress was one of many who also opted for neutral tones, wearing a chic tunic top and matching trousers by Ermanno Scervino accented with a black waistband. Opting not to go with black accessories, she wore white Casadei sandals and carried a gold Stark clutch, with Dannijo earrings completing the look.

InStyle Summer Soiree 2

Yvonne Strahovski: The actress kept things fairly neutral, wearing a honeycombed Alexander McQueen knit dress with a flared skirt which she styled with nude peep-toes and a colourful printed Rachel Zoe ‘Margaux’ clutch.

Meagan Good: Working a gothic black-and-purple ‘do, the actress wore a one-sleeved red gown from Frock Los Angeles. Vampy styling included a leopard-print clutch and black talons.

Bella Thorne: Usually a lover of bubbly, pastel, printed frocks, the Disney star has been wearing a lot of dresses in fall-like hues recently. That was also the case at this event, as she donned a dark-grey watercolour-print Emporio Armani wrap dress with purple satin lapels. PVC-and-purple-velvet Emporio Armani booties and a fun perspex clutch completed her look. Hopefully, she’ll lighten things up next time out.

InStyle Summer Soiree 3

Brittany Snow: The actress let her Orton clutch and lips do the talking as both shone in a neon-orange hue, eclipsing her striped peplum Lela Rose Resort 2014 dress. EF Collection, Dana Rebecca Designs and Jamie Wolf jewels completed her look.

Camilla Luddington: The actress wore a look from Paper London’s Spring 2013 collection which feels very familiar; you may remember that Jayma Mays and Lucy Hale have both worn this ‘Milano’ paperbag skirt. Camilla gives the look a fresh feel by keeping the look tonal with a matching top and adding JustFab shoes and Kami Lerner, H. Stern and Soffer Ari jewels.

Isabel Lucas: The actress was in typical boho mode, wearing a floaty cream maxi dress featuring a lace bodice. Shame about the heavy black accessories.

InStyle Summer Soiree 4

Shenae Grimes: I expected something more grungy from the newlywed; instead I find her black-and-white look featuring a striped blazer and leather shorts, which she accessorized with black ankle boots and a shoulder bag, quite chic.

Bryce Dallas Howard: I look at Bryce in this stunning watercolour dress and I say to myself, surely you could’ve found a more complementary shoe.

Jurnee Smollett: Adding some va-va-voom to proceedings, the actress wore a Chagoury gold lace cocktail dress, going the matchy-matchy route with an gold Oroton clutch and matching pumps.

InStyle Summer Soiree 5

Rachael Taylor: While I want to applaud the actress for stepping out of her usual head-to-toe all-black comfort zone, I don’t think this white halter Dion Lee top and skirt with several jagged layers is doing her any favours.

Ming-Na Wen: The actress looked very sassy wearing a David Meister animal-print peplum dress.

Melonie Diaz: I wish to own every piece of the actress’s look, from the cropped, striped, sequin-panelled top to her navy swing skirt, and especially those Bionda Castana two-tone sandals.
Who catches your eye here?

InStyle Summer Soiree 6

Serindia Swan: Easily my least favourite here. Her black Balenciaga Spring 2013 dress with a handkerchief hemline paired with ribbed camisole top should’ve been left on the runway.

Katie Lowes: The ‘Scandal’ actress blossomed wearing a Theia floral printed silk and cotton dress and with a matching overcoat. I would’ve loved this more without the overcoat.

Katie Cassidy: The former ‘Gossip Girl’ actress wore a sexy Versace Fall 2013 black long-sleeve dress with cut-outs and pin accents. Equally edgy styling in the form of a metallic clutch and studded Christian Louboutin pumps completed her look.
