It’s been a long time coming, but Jennifer Lawrence finally graces the cover of American Vogue for their coveted September 2013 issue wearing Calvin Klein.

The ‘Hunger Games’ heroine and Academy-Award-winning actress was captured by Mario Testino wearing Fall 2013 pieces from Dolce & Gabbana, Rochas, Ralph Lauren and Louis Vuitton. Surprisingly, no Dior.

In the mag, which hits newsstands August 20, Jennifer opens up about fans, saying that while she’s grateful for her opportunities she had trouble adjusting to the attention. She also talks about choosing to do Hunger Games, the paparazzi, and fame.

You can read more over at Vogue.com, or check out the extracts below.

On choosing to do the Hunger Games films: “When Winter’s Bone was getting nominated, I had only done indies, and suddenly I was introduced to this brand-new world where I didn’t feel like myself. I was in these weird gowns and listening to people talk about things I didn’t understand. And I remember reading that in the book and being like, Oh, my God, I know exactly what this feels like. I don’t know what it’s like to get ready for your death, but I do know what it’s like to be almost a puppet. And then when I was making the second film, I had become more acquainted with that world, and I think that’s something that Katniss experiences. She is different when she comes back. She does feel more comfortable in the Capitol; she understands the people more, and it’s not as eerie and scary and unfamiliar. She kind of knows how to work the system.”

On the paparazzi: “If I were just your average 23-year-old girl and I called the police to say that there were strange men sleeping on my lawn and following me to Starbucks, they would leap into action. But because I am a famous person, well, sorry, ma’am, there’s nothing we can do. It makes no sense… I am just not OK with it. It’s as simple as that. I am just a normal girl and a human being, and I haven’t been in this long enough to feel like this is my new normal. I’m not going to find peace with it.”

On deciding to be an actress: “I know it sounds so stupid, but it was kind of like I finally found something people were telling me I was good at, which I had never heard, ever. And that was a big reason why my parents let me do this. One time, my mom was on the phone with my dad, saying, ‘We’re paying for therapy and all this medication, and we don’t need it when she’s here. She’s happy.’ ”

On fame: “It’s just that I’m still getting used to everything. It still makes me a little emotional, just to see how quickly everything kind of changes… that it changes so fast. So I’ve kind of been a big homebody lately. But I think eventually, one of these days, I guess when the next franchise starts and I’m not in it, and the new Jennifer Lawrence is born, then I’ll be able to go outside.”

She looks great on this pictures. I wish she would have wore other looks, more youthful, besides these looks.

Hmm not quite how i expected her to be styled, but beautiful nonetheless. That shot of her in Rochas is gorgeous.

+ 1. Hate how the LV shorts exaggerate the V.

I know, that Rochas shot is to die! But her expression in the LV shot is awful, why pick it?

My fav is the LV shot, rest seems passable. Also the cover doesn’t live upto the level of a Sept. issue! Expected a lot more :(

Cover let down. Dont like her hair styling. The LV look is the best. I love Jennifer’s honesty and I think she is a good Katniss

I find her raw, raunchy, dirty and a bit obnoxious…But that’s what I love about her. It’s so difficult not to look at her and consider how talented she is at such young age. I hope she wouldn’t turn into one of the dreadful A-list “American Sweetheart” like Julia Roberts or Reese Witherspoon. She can be our next Sophia Lauren if she wants to.

She looks beautiful but I’m so disappointed. Im not even a big JLaw fan. It would be fine if this was another issue but after all the hype and expectation this is the direction chose to go with for the September issue. Really?!!

In some pics they make her look so middle aged. She’s 22 for crying out loud. So so dissapointed. The cover! WHY?! Colour me stupid.

Not liking the cover, but the rest are great. She looks fabulous.

The cover is awful, whats with the close up shots??
The editorial is really not something I expected for her, she is so young and the editorial doesn’t portray that, it suits someone like Meryl streep more.
