Lea Michele In Oscar de la Renta – 2013 Teen Choice Awards

Lea Michele In Oscar de la Renta - 2013 Teen Choice Awards

Lea Michele made her first public appearance since the tragic death of her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, on July 13 when she took to the stage at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday to collect her Choice TV Actress: Comedy surfboard at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards.

Paying tribute to the late actor, she wore a gold “Cory” necklace, which she frequently held while on stage wearing an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2014 two-tone pink frock with a bell-shaped skirt.

She also wore a pair of stunning platinum-and-diamond cluster earrings by Tiffany & Co., finishing the look with Jimmy Choo ‘Amika’ pink suede pumps with a snakeskin toecap.

In her emotional speech, which saw her fighting back tears, she dedicated her award to Cory, saying “I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory. For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love we’re going to get through this together. He was very special to me and also to the world, and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts. . . and that’s where he’ll stay forever. So thank you guys so much. Thank you.”

She was my best dressed at this event.

    What an emotional speech!

I don’t like it, it’s a little bit too twee for her.

I agree with you, it’s a bit twee for her. It is a lovely dress though, the up close picture really showed the fabric, which was lovely.
On an unrelated topic, I am sorry to hear about the death of her boyfriend.

      I agree. Lovely speech though.

I agree, but isnt that the point of this show? I think she looks fun and appropriate. Plus, Im glad that she went the fun and cheery route rather than the dark and solemn route. She looked pretty.

She looks cute, but I prefer this in the lookbook. The jacket elevates this to quite a different level and makes it special and classy.

I love how she just switches from sexy frocks to sweet little dresses and manage to look great in both.

The speach just brought tears to my eyes. She is amazing.

I think she looked just so beautiful and perfect. I have always loved Lea in Oscar de la Renta though the belt would have been super perfect. Beautiful hair and makeup as well.

It was simple, youthful and cute, I think anything else would be overkill. I was sobbing by then end of the speech- what a strong, gracious woman.

I think she looked put together, considering how tough this times might be for her.

I agree. I don’t think she was there to make a fashion statement, or for the blue carpet, or for the publicity. She was there to honor the man she loved and her (and his) fans. I was expecting something simple and nice. She gave us that. And I really like the color that seems to pass something like hopeful to be happy again… Also, I just love how she kept her make=up fresh, minimal and clean.

I really think pink is Lea’s colour and I admire her braveness. Stay strong, Lea.

Lea always looks amazing in pink and this is no different. I’m happy she didn’t opt for a somber outfit. Very lovely.

    She looks cute here.

I think everything about was sweet and pretty, but that wasn’t what I was focusing on.

I don’t know if it was conscious but I’m so glad they went as far away from black as they could. It’s a little bit Rachel Berry too, which again, may not have been conscious. It also feels completely event appropriate. She truly wowed me last night, not with her fashion but with her strength and eloquence.

wonderfully said.. lea is so poised and graceful. the speech brought tears to my eyes as well

    cute dress

This was super appropriate, anything more would’ve been OTT, and anything less would’ve been irreverent. I would’ve loved a belt, but that’s kind of nitpicky. Very much in Lea’s corner.

K, wasn’t expecting for that to make me tear up. Found the video, lovely and hard to watch. She looks sweet in that dress, pastels work very well with her skin I think.
