Beauty Trend Spotting: Orange Lips at the Young Hollywood Awards

Beauty Trend Spotting Orange Lips at the Young Hollywood Awards

With all the fashion and style last night at the Young Hollywood Awards, what really caught my eye was the total moment the colour orange was having. From peach to coral to bold tangerine–it was all about shades of orange for these young beauties.

A coral-orange-colored lip not only works for Spring and Summer, but it’s suitable for Fall, too. The trend was first noticed Moschino for Spring 2013 and then again for Fall at Oscar de la Renta.

AnnaSophia Robb complemented her summery look with a bold peachy hue. It can be recreated using Yves Saint Lauren Rouge Volupté Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick in Peach Passion, followed by Dior Addict Gloss in Dèlice to give the colour a nice shine.

Anna Camp’s makeup artist Jennifer Streicher used Armani Lip Maestro in Tibetan Orange to make a striking contrast against Anna’s white and gold pantsuit, and the tangerine shade she chose is flattering on a wide range of skin tones.

Holland Roden kept her floral attire from reading to ‘sweet’ by wearing a sleek and simple ponytail and a bold, semi-matte coral. The result was the perfect edgy, au courant look for the young star. To get a similar shade, try NARS Semi-Matte Lipstick in Outsider.

I love orange lips for the summer! My go to shade has definitely been coral- MAC’s Ravishing is my favourite, and MAC Shy Girl is a great colour for those who are a little nervous about going bright.

I have never ever worn or even thought about an orange lip before this summer, but it has really caught my eye too. I bought Maybelline Vivids Vibrant Tangerine, and I love it. It’s surprisingly versatile and flattering. I have almost always gne for cool colors, so this has been a fun change for this fair-skinned blonde.

Not a shade I’d thought about much before but definitely a colour worth giving a go. These ladies all look great.
