Deepika Padukone In Gaurav Gupta – The Lorraine Show

Deepika Padukone - The Lorraine Show

Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone visited the ITV studios to make a guest appearance on ‘The Lorraine Show’ in London earlier this morning to promote their latest movie, ‘Chennai Express’, before heading to BBC Asian Network.

Shahrukh was too cool for school dressed in a velvet midnight-blue blazer, open white shirt and black trousers styled with sunglasses, while Deepika was a vision of elegance and beauty wearing a bright coral traditional gown with floral embroidered details by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta.

My initial thought was that I wished the dress was a tad longer, but as it rained today in London, this length was perfect.

Nude platform peep-toes, opulent gold earrings, smouldering kohl-rimmed eyes and a dress-enhancing red lip colour completed her Bollywood superstar look.

The Bollywood stars will be at the Cineworld Feltham in London this evening for the movie’s premiere.

    Beautiful!
Rain or no rain, I do wish the dress were long enough to cover those clunky platforms. Ah well, it’s an absolutely stunning look from the ankles up. Can we forgive her shoes?

We Indians believe in comfort and then the style. Her shoes are perfect for such bright sari style dress and people in London wear bland colour which makes her stand out from the crowd. As you can see her height is an issue here, thats the reason dress looks so high. otherwise, we all love her style and wardrobe.

Please do not speak for 1 billion Indians. If we Indians beleived in comfort, you would see everyone dressed in shorts and tank tops in the tropical, sweaty summers. “We Indians” are as much a slave to fashion and styles as the rest of the world.
As for your myopic view of London – please go through other pages of this blog – you will see celebs in London wear as much colour as “we Indians”.
Her height can hardly be quoted as an issue. Doesn’t Gaurav Gupta design for models of her height? If so, maybe she should change designers.

          @harshi
Yeah, please report your opinions as views from yourself, not “We Indians”!!

@harshi- this website is for one and all to comment on fashion and actors – indian or no indian

you don’t have to bring your indian culture onto people

Marybeth did not like the shoes – so be it … your expert comments are unnecessary – With love from India :)

Undecided on the dress, but that color is absolutely divine on her. Hair and make up are also on point.

      +1

Killer! This is BDOTW for moi. That color is just divine on her, and I am seriously crushing on her hairdo. What a beautiful dress on a beautiful woman. The length and shoes are fine here.

She is stunning but I don’t like the see through details.

  9. Nishta August 1, 2013 at 08:23 #

Love the colour on her but I don’t like the dress itself. It just looks like it couldn’t decide whether to be a sari or a gown…. And the length is really awkward.

    • Rebecca Z August 1, 2013 at 16:23 #

Well said–though I am not as far along on the “don’t like the dress” axis as you are. I agree the color is spectacular on her and I like the direction the designer is trying to go in marrying the sari and dress sensibilities, but it doesn’t quite work in this case–partly because it is just too short for her. But, what a gorgeous woman.

This is so beautiful and elegant. BDOTW candidate. I just love Deepika–she knocks it out of the park every time.

  11. TeaAtTwo August 2, 2013 at 11:41 #

She looks really good in this sari style dress. I love the colour and the length is fine to me especially as it’s for an tv appearance. I’d change the shoes but they’re not a deal breaker.

  12. Amanda August 3, 2013 at 04:57 #

Awkwardly short. Even though its a beautiful look the length kills it.
