Olivia Wilde for Fashion Magazine September 2013

Olivia Wilde donned a Gucci ‘Heaven’s Bird’ feather-festooned frock on the cover of Canada’s Fashion Magazine for their September issue.

The 29-year-old actress is about to kick-start her promo tour for her latest movie ‘Rush’. She stars opposite Chris Hemsworth in the movie which is based on the true story of Austrian race-car driver Niki Lauda and his race with British competitor James Hunt.

She talks to the mag about her stylish character Suzy Miller who was James Hunt’s first wife, her relationship with fiancé Jason Sudeikis and her past experience of love.
Here are some extracts from her interview:

On her stylish, scandalous role in ‘Rush’: “It is based on a true story. I play Suzy Miller—who was James Hunt’s first wife. Suzy ended up leaving [James] for Richard Burton—who left Elizabeth Taylor for Suzy. My job in the film was to tell the story of James’s tumultuous marriage, which was very ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’ messy… I got to wear archive Gucci head to toe through the movie!”

On learning a few tricks from fiancé Jason Sudeikis: “His skill level is so high. I really have learned a lot from him, especially when it comes to being bold and taking risks as an actor within a role. Comedians are so great about trying things, like doing seven takes in seven different ways and really not being afraid to stumble.”

On her past experience with love: “It’s really hard to jump into a relationship after you feel you’ve been through a difficult time…I liken it to a burn victim jumping back into a Jacuzzi. It took a lot of coaxing.”

On how Marchesa upped her star wattage: “People remember what you wear. At the Golden Globes in 2010, I wore a brown Marchesa ball gown that people still stop me on the street to ask me about—which I think is so funny. I never thought I’d be recognized for a dress. [Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig] really understand my body and I love when they take risks. I think they’re one of the more adventurous design teams.”

The colour on the cover are amazing, but there’s too much photoshop around her face.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that a woman as beautiful as Olivia Wilde, after being groomed by the best make-up artist, hair stylist and shot by a professional photographer would still need THAT MUCH amount of Photoshopping.

For shame, Fashion Magazine, for shame!

How many more covers are we going to see the person wearing this Gucci dress.

      I know, right?!

I love that she got the year she wore Marchesa to the Globes wrong, and the magazine didn’t even check and you knew exactly when it was!

I know, so bad…wouldn’t have happened at Vogue ;)

Hilarious! :-) :-) I do agree that it kind of put her on the map, as that is the first time I can remember talking notice of her. I guess she hasn’t been famous for as long as she thinks. ;)

I would never in a million years have been able to identify that woman as Olivia Wilde. They haven’t just “improved” her features; they have distorted her beyond recognition.
    Amazing.

Her face looks like it’s made of barbies but I can’t lie- at least she doesn’t look hideous. I like that the outfit brings out her eyes. On another note, why hide the “I” in the magazine title and lay the “O” over her hair? What’s up with that?

Ugh, they made her look like a drag queen. If I saw this cover on a newsstand, I would not pick up the magazine.

That top is as ridiculous as whoever over-photoshopped her face…

“Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig really understand my body.”

But Fashion Magazine don’t understand your face.

I thought this was an asian actress until I scrolled back to the heading. She’s too beautiful for photoshop.

What about her nose? She doesn’t even look like her.
