Menswear Round Up

Men Tuesday 1

The boys of summer have been heating up the scene over the last few days, sauntering around in a variety of sartorial statements. From premieres to polo (and a flash of pink), take a peek at the lineup.

James Marsden: With a little bit of scruff and a lot of suave style, the actor donned an impeccably fitted, grey plaid Dior Homme suit, worn over a crisp white shirt and black tie, at the ’2 Guns’ New York premiere at SVA Theatre last night. But, let’s face it: With that chiseled stare, who’s looking at the suit.

RuPaul: The entertainer skipped the drag, but was still pretty in pink at Fergie’s ‘Gayby’ baby shower at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, California on Sunday. Only RuPaul could flaunt a slim, pastel tuxedo with white racing stripes down the legs and white strap-happy sandals. Tickled pink?

Eddie Redmayne: The British cutie joined Alice Eve at the Audi International Polo at Guards Polo Club in Egham, England on Sunday. The casual-cool vibe of this light denim-look suit and baby-blue button-down is undeniably refreshing, especially when polished up with the flourish of a pocket square. He also slid on a pair of matching Toms shoes, which were a perfect if not unexpected fit.

Men Tuesday 3

Mark Wahlberg: The actor joined James at the ’2 Guns’ New York premiere, also embracing the scruff and the squares in his own more traditional, dark checquered suit, paired with a wide satin tie.

Miles Teller: The up-and-coming star was also part of the plaid parade, when he attended ‘The Spectacular Now’ screening at The Crow’s Nest last Friday in Montauk, New York. His summery Etro blue linen suit and check shirt, worn with a brown belt and loafers, had the Hamptons written all over it.

Denzel Washington: Rounding out the ’2 Guns’ New York premiere posse, the dapper actor relaxed on the red carpet with his wife, Pauletta Pearson Washington. The black T-shirt and pants almost got a pass, until I saw the reflective running shoes. When it comes to sneakers on the red carpet, there are far more creative options to be had.

Way to step it up, gentlemen! I absolutely love Miles Teller’s look. I dare say he even beats the male fashion king Mr Redmayne for me this week. And, I can’t help but smile at RuPaul, too. That is a well-cut suit for a tall man. Only time I’ve ever liked sandals on a male.

Wow, blown away by RuPaul. Marsden’s look is swoon-worthy, that suit just fits.

    Top row trumps bottom row.

James Marsden is my favorite. Sharp, classic but interesting, handsome. BDMOTW contender for me.

I like Ru Paul’s look too, even if the sandals are a bit OTT. The excellent tailoring and his easy confidence keep the look from being clownish.

Redmayne is the big disappointment here. His jacket, straining at the button and with sleeves crumpled from shoulder to wrist, looks like last year’s coat on a growing boy. I know he likes to wear things on the small side, but this is too much.

(Denzel’s shoes may be all wrong but something in his genes is all right. It’s as if the older he gets, the handsomer he is!)

As a lover of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” I have to say that when he is out of costume on the show, RuPaul wears many impeccably tailored suits in a variety of colors and prints, usually with a colored bow-tie. He would be a great addition to the men’s poll, if you continue find pictures, FC.

James Marsden knocked it out the park this week Miles Teller looks pretty good too.

James Marsden – nothing out of the ordinary and in heavy dark grey but the best of the bunch, very sharp and polished, the fit is perfection.

looked more….no, def. Eddie is my fave. Love that light navy linen suit and the impeccable slim fit, and the addition of the pocket square is a perfect finish to this light and effortless look for the polo event. I don’t really like James’s heavy suit.

  11. Markness July 31, 2013 at 02:09 #

Oh my, there is a God on Earth! Why is Eddie so much hotter with a messy hair? Why? My gosh! hahahaha!

And as always, RuPaul looks FABUUULLOOOUUUSSS! WERK IT! :D :D :D

  12. KatieKate July 31, 2013 at 04:40 #

Eddie all the way! His denim suit is just so dreamy, as is he. James looks good too. And I got to give it to Ru, he has confidence and charm in spades in this look. I even kind of like the sandals. Gasp!

  13. Christine July 31, 2013 at 05:32 #

Mark and Miles Teller looks good.

RuPaul and Eddie Reymane look BDMOTW worthy!!
