Christina Ricci In Thom Browne – ‘The Smurfs 2′ New York Premiere

Christina Ricci In Thom Browne - 'The Smurfs 2' New York Premiere

While Katy Perry and Jayma Mays were on the West coast attending the ‘Smurfs 2′ premiere on Sunday, Christina Ricci was on the East coast promoting the same movie by attending the New York screening at the Lighthouse International Theatre.

Sporting a braided updo, the actress wore a Thom Brown Resort 2014 green-and-white printed dress with fitted waist and slightly exaggerated hips at a length which stopped just below the knee.

I’m delighted that she opted for a nude Jimmy Choo ‘Riane’ clutch instead of pumps. Her green leather snakeskin-embossed pumps were courtesy of Casadei with Harry Winston sparklers adorning each ear.

Christina has always been one of my favourites on the red carpet. While I love the look, the braided updo takes the glossy edge off this sophisticated frock and effortless styling somewhat for me.

I don’t like anything about this look. The hair, dress, shoes and bag are not working for me.

Not wild about the braids either, but before I saw them I LOVED this look. The dress is so cute and flattering and her makeup is perfection. Love the green shoes. Such a refreshing contrast to Angie!

I don’t know, the hip detail makes it look like she has a muffintop. I don’t like it.

My thoughts exactly. It’s not an easy feat to make Christina Ricci look like she has a stomach roll. But some fantastic stylist managed to do just that. I’m kind of aghast.

        Yep, Agreed. So unflattering.

Totally agree. The fit is terrible. The colour is nice, it could have been a nice look.

Awesome dress, poor styling. This is rather disappointing because she is always great on the RC.

The hair and clutch aren’t quite right but overall it’s a nice look — not up to Christina’s usual standards, but still nice enough.

The hip detail is awful and extremely unflattering, but the color is great and I love the shoes. The braid feels a bit off and the nude clutch is very out of place.

Too busy looking at the ‘zebra’ tights on the model… hilarious. Anyways, this looks mumsy somehow.

Love everything but the exaggerated hip detail which makes it look like she has a serious case of muffin top, not flattering at all.

Pockets with a “pencil” shaped skirt..no, a great big no!!

I agree the waist detail’s a bit weird, but I still love the dress. Would be a good one to wear to a wedding

As others have mentioned, the hip pockets aren’t at all flattering, but I would like everything else about the look if the dress were just a bit shorter. Christina is so tiny and the longer skirts make her legs all but disappear.
    Love, love, love the shoes.

I thought the hip detail were gaping pockets. Either way, it ruins her ability to pop her sexy hip.

    Not loving this.
