Olivia Palermo In Alexander Wang – ‘RED 2′ New York Screening

Olivia Palermo In Alexander Wang - 'RED 2' New York Screening

Olivia Palermo was also turning heads at the screening of Summit Entertainment’s ‘RED 2′ film, hosted last Tuesday at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

The socialite wrapped up in a casual, Alexander Wang cotton-poplin handkerchief dress, tied and knotted to create some element of shape at the front. Of course, that’s only where her look started.

In true Olivia style, she lavished on the accessories, taking her hankie into tribal territory with a multi-colour, beaded collar neckpiece dangling with silver embellishment.

Matching tassel-festooned sandals added another layer of ethnic flavour. And, if I squint, her black-and-white envelope clutch could pass for a zebra print.

This isn’t the first time Olivia has done the tribal-trendy look. Perhaps her closet has been inspired by her work as a Maasai Project Ambassador in Kenya.

I don’t like the dress at all, it looks like she wrapped a white blouse over a basic white dress. I’m not too fond of the necklace either.

Nothing in this is working, on its own nor together.

I happen to think she looks adorable. Talk about summer appropriate, that dress is so easy breezy, chic, and fresh. I love that she accessorized with tribal accents. She does ads for Pikolinos, and the Masaai tribesmen are wearing those necklaces like the one she has on. She’s all about having fun with fashion.

      I agree.

I love how she still stayed true to her Uptown style even when wearing Alexander Wang!

I usually love her style but this doesn’t work. I don’t like the dress or accessories except for maybe the shoes…

The combination of necklace, shoes, and clutch would be far too much, even if the dress were sleek and utterly plain. As it is, this is absurd overkill.

I think it would be a nice look if she ditched the necklace and clutch.

    I don’t like the dress, it’s a mess.
The necklace is not working with this look. I like her shoes and the clutch and, as usual, her make up is perfect.

    Beauty and simplicity! Love it!

That necklace doesn’t belong anywhere near her dress. I see it as being compatible with a simple jewel on a silver chain, not a full-out multicolored tribal piece.

That is the mother of statement necklaces.

    Hate the necklace.
