Solange Knowles In Prada – ‘Blue Jasmine’ New York Premiere

Solange Knowles In Prada - 'Blue Jasmine' New York Premiere

Solange Knowles attended the ‘Blue Jasmine’ New York premiere held at MOMA yesterday evening in New York City alongside Cate Blanchett.

I was completely crestfallen when I saw her in this head-to-toe Prada Spring 2013 look as there isn’t much I like about it.

Her mint-green top and skirt with floral appliqués are considerably more wearable than the complicated layered look which took to the runway, yet even Solange can’t sell me this muted version.

I wasn’t a fan of this collection and few pieces off the runway have piqued my interest.

Even with the Prada accessories, including a glittery bag and pink bow-accented sandals, I find myself being more excited about the return of her ‘fro.

Pace Wu In Elie Saab – P&G’s Pro Series Shampoo Line Promotion Event

Pace Wu In Elie Saab - P&G's Pro Series Shampoo Line Promotion Event

Pace Wu attended a commercial event which saw her unveiled as the new ambassador for P&G’s Pro Series shampoo line on Friday in Beijing, China.

With green being the colour of the brand’s logo and product, Pace selected a green Elie Saab gown for the occasion.

Her chiffon emerald-green gown with a lace patterned bodice was effortlessly styled with a gold bracelet and enviable glossy wavy tresses.

I know what you are thinking: this is a tad OTT for a launch of a shampoo line, but in this instance she is selling glamour and you can’t get more glamorous than an Elie Saab gown.

Celebrity Favourite: Esteban Cortazar Exclusive On Net-A-Porter

Esteban Cortazar Exclusive On Net-A-Porter

Solange Knowles, Brandy Norwood and Nicole Richie will be delighted to learn that Colombian-born designer Esteban Cortazar’s second collection is available exclusively on Net-A-Porter.com.

For Resort the collection was full of creams, nudes and white piece. This time around the 23-piece Fall collection consists of a more muted palette of greys and blacks – so the question is, will this collection grab the eye of colour- and print-loving Solange?

The designer describes the collection as trans-seasonal, working throughout the year in different countries and climates globally; he purposely made each piece to have versatility, translating easily from day to night.

The sporty, yet luxe, separates include his signature draped tailored blazers, dresses with asymmetrical lines, tunics, mini dresses, fitted dresses, leather-trimmed skirts, a parka and some red-carpet-worthy gowns.

Taking his accessories collection up a notch from just shoes, Esteban incorporated jewelry this time, including rings, bracelets and a necklace.

Vera Farmiga In Calvin Klein – ‘Bates Motel’ Party

Vera Farmiga In Calvin Klein - 'Bates Motel' Party

Vera Farmiga attended A&E’s ‘Bates Motel’ Party during Comic-Con 2013 held at Gang Kitchen on Saturday in San Diego, California.

The actress wore a Calvin Klein Spring 2013 black satin below-the-knee strapless frock with a gold frame outlining the sweetheart neckline and with a thicker sheer panel than the same dress presented on the runway.

Vera accessorized her look with Jimmy Choo ‘Lumina’ cream pumps enlivened with metallic-gold trims and a gold toe-cap, a Bottega Veneta black-and-cream clutch, plus a stack of arm candy, with a simple updo and a rouge lip colour providing the finishing touches.

It’s black again, but I find myself enamoured of the sophistication of this look.

Does it have a little too much polish for Comic-Con?

Cate Blanchett In Balenciaga.Edition – ‘Blue Jasmine’ New York Premiere

Cate Blanchett In Balenciaga Edition - 'Blue Jasmine' New York Premiere

Following her guest appearance on Letterman earlier in the evening, Cate Blanchett stunned again while attending the New York premiere of Woody Allen’s ‘Blue Jasmine’ held at the Museum of Modern Art, which, frankly, is where her stunning dress belongs.

She wore a Balenciaga.Edition ensemble consisting of a blush-pink gazar cape and an embroidered dress with floral appliqués.

The pictures of Cate without the cape are beautiful, but the cape leaves me breathless, taking this look into fashion-forward – and, in this case, regal – territory.

Nude Balenciaga pumps and Van Cleef + Arples jewels accessorized her look, with a sophisticated updo and rosy cheeks providing the finishing touches.

I don’t think I need to ask if you think this is BDOTW worthy. Do I?
