Tao Okamoto In Miharayasuhiro – ‘The Wolverine’ London Premiere

Tao Okamoto In Miharayasuhiro Fall 2012 - 'The Wolverine' London Premiere

Tao Okamoto attended the UK Premiere of ‘The Wolverine’ held at Empire Leicester Square in London yesterday evening.

The model/actress stole the spotlight wearing a striking camouflage halter gown with exaggerated hips and embroidered details by Japanese designer Miharayasuhiro.

On paper a camo gown shouldn’t work, however, the end result is quite breathtaking.

Simple styling including a tight, long ponytail completed her look.

Love or loathe?

I don t like the dress, nor the hair-style.

  2. e July 18, 2013 at 17:58 #

is she modelling this dress too?

    • Catherine Kallon July 18, 2013 at 19:45 #

no, that is a different model

      • Mika July 19, 2013 at 00:21 #

No, that is definitely Tao in both pictures!

    • Mika July 19, 2013 at 00:21 #

      Yes she is

  3. Lalaine July 18, 2013 at 08:32 #

LOVE. She is working it. The hair really sets off the look.

  4. Mika July 17, 2013 at 23:39 #

@KatieKate – she IS the model, too, haha!

  5. Sara July 17, 2013 at 23:07 #

    It’s floral fatigue! LOL

Isn’t Tao Okamoto also the model wearing the look on the runway? It looks like her at least.

    • KatieKate July 18, 2013 at 00:46 #

That’s what I thought too, at first, but then thought maybe it didn’t look like her. So, maybe it is.

  7. Nat39 July 17, 2013 at 21:34 #

Absolutely LOVE it – the exotic feel of the print, the exaggerated hip details adding the sharpness and originality to the structure of the gown, the fabulous silhouette on her delicate frame, her sleek styling is on point…it’s a BDOTW worthy look.

  8. Paulo July 17, 2013 at 21:29 #

Love that she wore a dress she modeled on the runway!

  9. Sharon July 17, 2013 at 21:26 #

“Loathe” may be a bit harsh, but it’s not one of my favorites. The colors look so muddy to me, but it is a pretty style.

  10. Namel July 17, 2013 at 21:03 #

Gorgeous.BDOTW for sure. It could have been perfect if the ponytail was always in the back.

  11. Natalie19 July 17, 2013 at 20:58 #

It’s very elegant but whimsical at the same time. Love!

And, seriously, why would anyone loathe it? I don’t think there is any reason for that

  12. KatieKate July 17, 2013 at 20:48 #

LOVE! BDOTW! This is just amazing. I think she looks better than the model. The print is so unique and memorable, a well-considered risk. The cut of the gown is also inspired, lending an appropriately futuristic vibe. Just look at how amazing she looks in front of that dramatic backdrop! Home run!

  13. Jen July 17, 2013 at 18:42 #

    LOVE. BDOTW for sure.

  14. NooG July 17, 2013 at 16:33 #

I don’t love or loathe. I like it though. Does that count? 🙂

  15. dee July 17, 2013 at 16:07 #

I really like this on her. I think she styled the dress nicely too.

  16. John July 17, 2013 at 15:59 #

Love this! She’s definitely working this dress! I just wish the hips were more exaggerated like on the runway. Loving the ponytail, she looks like a superhero!

  17. Christine July 17, 2013 at 15:25 #

Gorgeous gown but she wore her hair up!

    • Christine July 17, 2013 at 15:25 #

      But wished*

  18. H July 17, 2013 at 14:20 #

I agree with the fitting around the breast, but other than that this is way over the top and I love that she has take this (I consider it a risk) because she definitely brought the eyes on her!

  19. Leo July 17, 2013 at 14:16 #

    LOVE it.

    • Fiona-Brasil July 17, 2013 at 14:26 #

      +1.Like a cartoon heroine.

  20. Anne July 17, 2013 at 14:10 #

The dress is kind of cool with a memorable print and good shape. However, I cannot handle the OTT horsetail- I’m calling it a horsetail because it’s unnecessarily longer than a pony’s

  21. Charlotte July 17, 2013 at 14:06 #

I don’t like the dress and I think the cut on the dress is not flaterring on her, especially around the breast.

  22. Yeliz July 17, 2013 at 14:06 #

She is making this gown work, I especially like the shape on her. I don’t like the overly long ponytail though.
