Tilda Swinton In Chanel – Public Talk and Q&A with Michael Idov

Tilda Swinton In Chanel - Public Talk and Q&A with Michael Idov

Tilda Swinton attended a public talk and Q&A session with journalist and writer Michael Idov at Coffeemania in Moscow earlier this month.

The Scottish actress, who is the face of Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2013 ad campaign, wore her third look from the French brand’s Resort 2014 collection.

On this occasion she wore a salmon-and-black crepe-de-chine pleated blouse and skirt with signature ‘CC’ button detailing.

I love how she switches gears between androgynous and feminine looks seamlessly.

Even though I would’ve preferred this look to have been cut to the length of the buttons just below the knee, this is a great look for Tilda. I like that Uncle Karl is bringing out her more feminine side.

I’m not buying this on Tilda. She seems out of her element.

I think a wore something very similiar 30 odd years ago in my high school production of Little Women.

      Teehee!:-)

I really like this look, but only for Tilda. Perhaps Rita Ora has clouded my judgment and made me think this is better than it is, though.

I don’t know about this. I’m kinda like in two minds. Omly she can pull this off. Though I wish she had kept the belt from the runway.

ITA! I think the belt would have created a balance between the the femininity of the dress and the androgyny from the neck up. Still, I love Tilda so this is still totally fine in my book.

This needs a little more pizzazz. As much as I appreciate Tilda’s unique style precisely for her unwillingness to compromise, this dress would have needed a little help from its friend, the wearer.

This is nice, but I would’ve also liked it more had the dress been cut to the length of the buttons.

This dress is made for walking I guess. I love the effect of the skirt on the runway, but as the occasion Tilda wore it for was likely to produce more pictures of her standing, I agree it would have been better to trim it a little.

I would have liked this much more if the skirt were plainer — or at least didn’t have that horizontal seam at the knee, which chops up the flow.

In any case, it’s fun to see Tilda doing something different. I’m not sold on her collaboration with Chanel but it will be interesting.

I hate this look on her. I think she looks ridiculous and so not confortable.

  9. dee July 15, 2013 at 20:23 #

I don’t like this at all. This is too much fabric.

  10. Nat39 July 15, 2013 at 20:39 #

Too drab, mumsy, and matronly for her fierce persona.

I love it. Her style is unique and impeccable puting her above all criticism.

This is too fussy for Tilda. She rocks clean lines, not overworked pleated sacks.

  13. KatieKate July 15, 2013 at 23:10 #

Too. Many. Pleats. I think it also looked better with the runway belt and shoes. Even the edgy makeup contributed to making this look work. But unfortunately, on Tilda it does sink into mumsy territory.

I really loved this on the runway…infact I loved the whole collection. But so far, Tilda hasn’t done it any justice off the runway. She’s just not a Chanel girl IMO…I wish she would go back to wearing Haider Ackermann, that’s when she really shined!

  15. George July 16, 2013 at 04:23 #

I hate to say this, but it is not flattering at all on my goddess Tilda. It’s just too much material.

  16. Lalaine July 16, 2013 at 10:57 #

This is not working on her.
