Both Charlotte Olympia and Kate Spade New York were inspired by the magic of the cinema, with film reels, popcorn and clapboards being the aesthetic of their collection, giving the pieces an classic, old Hollywood feel.
Charlotte Olympia’s ‘Take’ Pandora clutch and the Kate Spade New York ‘Cinema City Gia’ pouch aren’t the only pieces these designers have in common.
Both Charlotte Olympia’s ‘Take’ leather ankle strap stilettos and Kate Spade New York’s ‘Fresia’ heels were inspired by celluloid film.
Selfridges also carry the Charlotte Olympia ‘Girls On Film’ PVC and silk satin heels with the designers’ signature platform.
You couldn’t have a cinematic collection without something popcorn-inspired.
Charlotte Olympia ‘Movie Night’ embroidered leather shoulder bag is probably more authentic with the red-and-white stripes than Kate Spade New York’s Cinema City Popcorn tote with the black-and-white stripes, but I would happily tote either of these whimsical pieces.
I feel as a film student I have an absolute right to have all of these! Char and Kate, you can send them right over. One nicer than the other, WANT-alarm!
I want everything! Especially those shoes.
They are very similar, yet inspirational in their own ways. Adorableness! I would love to rock any of the pieces, but, must admit my fave is the “Girls on film” platforms from Self ridges, even if I am tiring of platforms overall.
Love the bags.
So cute
Wow, the similarity is incredible!
I would love to own each piece, they’re gorgeous.
