Natalie Portman In Christian Dior - Benjamin Millepied's LA Dance Project Inaugural Benefit Gala

Natalie Portman attended Benjamin Millepied’s L.A. Dance Project Inaugural Benefit Gala in Los Angeles, California on Thursday.

The actress makes up a trio of Dior ambassadresses’ who have worn a look from the Christian Dior Resort 2014 collection.

Instead of selecting a multi-coloured panelled look like Marion Cotillard and Charlene Princess of Monaco, Natalia selected a red silk Dior rise-and-fall dress with a pink lining.

Her fit-to-perfection dress was matched her nails. The rest of her styling included Dior accessories including a black embroidered clutch, and dual-colour satin ankle strap open toe sandals from the Dior Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

Opting for barely there makeup her brunette tresses were left naturally wavy.

So sad :( J’adore this dress on the runway, but on Natalie it is way too long, and every single aspect of her styling is off. The hair should be up instead of covering up the straps and neckline, the black watch is out of place, the large, black clutch is heavy and completely unappealing, those shoes…Oh dear, those shoes. What was she thinking? I can’t think of a pair of shoes more ill-suited for this dress. Ma-jor letdown!

girl you said it right!!!! It was like the stylist was on a mission to disgrace the dress!

+1 my favourite look from this runway. Major letdown

I agree. The styling is terribly off. Not even her hair and makeup look good. The dress is too long and it makes her look much shorter than she really is.
I LOVE this dress on the runway but it was completely ruined on Natalie.

The longer skirt on Natalie is hanging a bit, but on the other hand, the rise-fall hemline is a bit more subtle, the clutch feels way too harsh. But overall it’s nice, I like it, the dual colour sandals and natural hair/makeup work nicely.

Gorgeous except for the clutch which is overwhelming. I love this dress longer. She looks spectacular.

That dress is so beautiful, but natalie sucks the life out of it, as always. I wish someone else had worn that dress.

I loved this dress. On the model. Not on her. Wrong shoes and wrong clutch .Why does she need a watch there? it looks totally out of place. A beatiful bracelet would be much better.

+1 !! Each and every bit of styling is wrong here !! Love the dress on the runway.

This is not a good look. The dress is much too long and doesn´t fit her. It´s just hanging off her body. And her head looks HUGE compared to her body in that picture, what´s wrong with her? Maybe if she had worn her hair up, she wouldn´t look so bad.
The dress looks spectacular on the model, though.

    • dressaddict June 23, 2013 at 21:12 #

Exactly, her head is huge, maybe it’s the picture? Otherwise it’s just another exaple of bad, bad styling and choice.

she looks even shorter than she’s supposed to be! It’s a beautiful dress but it looks awful on her.

I realize in Raf Simone’s designs for Dior, it takes a lot of styling effort to make his clothes not plain or boring. While I applaud the effort that women like Lawrence, Cotillard or Portman making, I just cannot help but wonder how long can they keep up with this?

  9. Yeliz June 22, 2013 at 20:02 #

Love this relaxed, summery look sans the clutch and the cuff/watch. The dress, the shoes and her hair and makeup are gorgeous.

  10. Ali June 22, 2013 at 23:13 #

No. She looks washed out and the dress is drowning her. Beautiful girl but she’s looked a lot better than this.

  11. Christine June 22, 2013 at 23:24 #

It appears too long for her but otherwise she looks nice.
