Madonna In Tom Ford – ‘Madonna: The MDNA Tour’ Screening

Madonna In Dolce & Gabbana - 'Madonna The MDNA Tour' Screening

Madonna attended the Dolce & Gabbana and The Cinema Society screening of the Epix world premiere of ‘Madonna: The MDNA Tour’ at The Paris Theatre in New York City on Tuesday evening.

Ensuring that no one would upstage her at her own event, the singer wore a Tom Ford three-piece suit accented with David Yurman black-onyx and diamond cufflinks.

The suit was styled with an ivory waistcoat and bow-tie, complete with a chic top hat and yellow flower pinned to her lapel.

I’m not sure if it was an ode to Michael Jackson, but Madonna wore a Jacob & Co. diamond mesh glove which features over 17 carats of round white diamonds set into a white-gold mesh design.

A faux bob and bold red lip colour completed her look.

I have to say it’s one of the best suits we’ve seen this week. Does she deserve a place in the BDOTW menswear poll, or is this look too gimmicky for you?

It’s a ode to Marlene Dietrich. she’s an idol for madonna
    Madonna looks fantastic.
    Bdotw contender.

Absolutely spot on homage – Blue Angel, and all the other films MF wore men’s suits which she wore better than anyone else. BDOTW in my view, too. Am liking the updating through the mesh glove and platforms, too. I am amazed I actually really like a look of Madonna’s!

Definitely an ode to Marlene Dietrich – Dietrich’s iconic image in the movie “Morocco.” Madonna pulled it off nicely except the shoe part. Well, she’s too short, but overall, it was a fantastic look.

It’s a great look, except the shoes.
I would like to see it on BDOTW for women, not for men !

gimmicky or not, she is wearing the hell out of this. definite bdotw (even with the ginormous platform heels)

This made me think of Dita Von Teese at the 17th Annual NYRP Halloween Benefit Gala, she looked AMAZING
Madonna: dont like the shoes, the awful gloves and the flower
I love suits, but for me it’s a no

She looks ridiculous! Short and boxy… A caricature of the classy and elegant Marlene Dietrich.

+10000000!! All I can see it’s just whopping desperation.

+200000! I don’t like this look. It is such a costume, and not a great one imo.

  6. Yeliz June 19, 2013 at 12:45 #

Not liking this. It’s too costumey.

  7. the (un?)social butterfly June 19, 2013 at 12:48 #

To me, she looks the best she´s ever did for a long time…

  8. Iris June 19, 2013 at 13:05 #

she looks like the ringmaster in a circus.

I love it !!! Its a bit costumey, but she is working the hell out of it !!!

  11. dee June 19, 2013 at 13:28 #

The only thing I don’t like are the shoes.

  12. Markness June 19, 2013 at 13:43 #

I love this. It is a bit gimmicky but she’s a popstar and it looks chic. I love the fact that she can grab everyone’s attention by wearing something that’s covered up. At least she proves that even when she’s not flashing her butt, she’s still the center of attention. BDOTW for both women and men please! 😀

The negative Nelly’s are always good for a quick laugh, but it is Madonna who has the last laugh…..ALWAYS!

  14. Rebecca Z June 19, 2013 at 14:09 #

She is a great show-woman. But she isn’t tall enough to pull this off.

  15. Christine June 19, 2013 at 14:24 #

LOL. She does look great. She always could werk a mens suit.

  16. Marybeth June 19, 2013 at 17:34 #

She simply does not have the stature to pull this off as anything other than a costume. Even in that context, she does not remind me of Marlene Dietrich so much as Shirley Temple.

    • KatieKate June 20, 2013 at 00:57 #

      Haha!! :)

  17. Pedro June 19, 2013 at 18:33 #

    Madonna looks amazing!

Such a great suit and she is working it

  18. kuko lira June 19, 2013 at 19:39 #

is not tom ford, the suit is from dolce & gabbana!!!

    • KatieKate June 20, 2013 at 01:05 #

Actually, it IS Tom Ford. The event was sponsored by D&G, but she chose not to wear that label, in true Madonna fashion.

  19. Nat39 June 19, 2013 at 20:09 #

It’s a costume, not BDOTW worthy.

  20. Jimmy June 19, 2013 at 21:47 #

I thought the suit was impeccably tailored and she wore it very well. It was a great homage to the fabulous Marlene Dietrich who appeared at the same theater when it opened long ago. BDOTW for me.

  21. mg June 20, 2013 at 01:59 #

please please put her in the menswear poll that would be so amazing!!

  22. Marko_M June 20, 2013 at 14:29 #

She’s Madonna. It starts and ends there.

  23. Angela R. June 20, 2013 at 15:10 #

Sorry but yesterday D&G team has mentioned on their Facebook fan page, that MADONNA was wearing a suit from the italian house, and not from Tom Ford. So maybe you could correct the mistake.

  24. Bet Rodrigues June 20, 2013 at 19:18 #

Yippee, yippee..Madonna is back…this homage to Dietrich is classic, fitting and Madonna looks fab!!!
