Chanel The Little Black Jacket Exhibition: Beijing

Chanel The Little Black Jacket Beijing

The Little Black Jacket exhibition hosted by Chanel was presented in Beijing, China yesterday evening with a mix of local celebs and Chanel ambassadresses.

Zhou Xun: No stranger to wearing Chanel, the Asian beauty looked like a delicate porcelain doll, wearing a black-and-white Chanel Spring 2013 Couture sequin dress featuring floral embroidery. Everything about her look is so sculptured, right down to her bowl haircut. The only thing I would change about the look is the platform stripper-like heels.

Zhang Ziyi: The actress was the picture of elegance once again, wearing a chic yet laidback look from Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. I didn’t see much red carpet potential from this collection considering how heavily layered each piece was presented. However, I love that Ziyi stripped back the layers to give us this beautiful look, which she styled with a Chanel Fall 2012 silver belt and Chanel Fine jewelry. Step back people, she’s on a roll.

Alicia Vikander: The Swedish actress wore a summery look from the Chanel Resort 2013 collection. Her flirty blue lace top and skirt was styled with an ocean-blue-and-white clutch and striped blue-and-white Chanel Resort 2013 shoes to add a nautical vibe to her sophisticated look.

Sun Fei Fei: The model opted for a simple, short LBD from Chanel’s Fall 2013 collection with a flared skirt. As you know, I’m not the greatest fan of black dresses; however, the style of her dress and styling of the overall look bowls me over. She added Chanel accessories including pearl earrings, an ivory clutch, a black tweed bag, plus black-and-transparent shoes which are not only popular for Chanel, but also a few other designers as well.

Virginie Ledoyen: The French actress selected a pale-green Chanel Spring 2010 ruched dress which is my least favourite of the bunch as it gives her a very boxy shape. Even with the ruched detailing, I would’ve been tempted to belt this look. The silver cuff works for me, but the feather hair accessory, and black Chanel shoes and clutch are a snooze.

Lin Peng: The actress also wore a summery blue-and-white Chanel look with a chic cropped jacket accented with pearl buttons; however, it’s the addition of the pink which makes her look stand out.

Wang Li Kun: Clearly the theme was blue-and-white as Wang Li Kun donned a Chanel frock bearing these colours. A blue Chanel bag and toe-cap pumps which are too heavy for her summery look provided the finishing touches.

Zhang, Virginie, and Lin both look great. I bow down to Zhang’s ability to make me like those pants.

Zhang is gorgeous! She can’t be stopped and looks amazing in anything. Lin and Wang’s look from the ankles up is also look super cute!

I think Lin Peng looks really pretty. Has Diane Kruger worn anything like it?

Is China the new Fashion Capital of the world? Maybe not, but if the stats that a HUGE chunk of luxury goods are now being purchased by the Chinese — it’s getting there!

I just LOVE Lin Peng’s look!! So fresh, summery, elegant and pretty!! So perfect!! 🙂

I too like Alicia Vikander’s dress but not her clutch and shoes. 🙁

The only dress I like is the black one, sans horrendous pvs shoes. The rest of looks are ridiculous, on runway and off it.

Zhang and Lin were my standouts.

      Same here, clearly.

…would’ve also been Wang if she’d kept the runway version.

    Zhang Ziyi is my favorite.
I like Alicia Vikander’s outfit but not her clutch and shoes.

Every now and then I see a Chanel look I adore but, truth be told, I’m not a big fan of the brand.

Zhang Ziyi looks great. Simple and chic.

  17. Anna June 19, 2013 at 22:34 #

Alicia Vikander is Swedish, not Russian.

  18. Christine June 19, 2013 at 22:31 #

Wang Li Kun is my favorite

  19. Yeliz June 19, 2013 at 22:26 #

Zhang Ziyi is my favourite of the bunch. I would’ve hated those pants on anybody else, but on Zhang they look amazing, the whole look is very chic. I also like Wang Li Kun’s look.

Ziyi for me! She just looks so effortless, yet chic and well-put together. Alicia (who I thought was Swedish… or is she originally from Russia?) kills it with those shoes for me. Love the clutch, finding the dress okay if its cut a bit contrived.

The others are just a bit random.
Xun… I might get on board with the dress, but not with this hair and certainly not with these shoes, just no.
Fei Fei: all this black is a bit of a snoozefest, but if you get some more inspired shoes and bag-gear we can talk.
Virginie: wearing a sack for a dress?
Wang Li Kun: a bit retro is fine, but dress, clutch and then white shoes? I don’t know. It’s not aaactually the 50s anymore.
I really quite like Peng’s dress and hair, but the shoes don’t wow me and while I like the colour of the bag, I find it too big and heavy for this look.

Oh I might have confused Wang Li Kun and Lin Peng? I’m confused… I just went in the order of the photographs, sorry.

        oops sorry…corrected
