Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill’s Pre-Wedding Dinner

Pre Wedding 1

A host of royals attended the dinner to celebrate the nuptials of Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill, hosted by Madeleine’s parents King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia which was held at The Grand Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden yesterday evening.

Princess Charlene of Monaco: The princess turned to one of her favourite designers, Akris, who created this shimmering gold mermaid gown with a matching vest.

Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece: The beautiful princess wore an embellished Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 strapless gown with a rise-and-fall hemline.

Pre Wedding 2

Queen Silvia of Sweden: The mother of the bride was the epitome of elegance in a floor-sweeping red gown that showed off her slim physique to perfection.

Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg: Having worn Elie Saab to her own wedding last year and to Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands’ Abdication State Dinner last month, the Princess selected the designer yet again for this royal occasion. She wore a sequin-free green asymmetrical gown styled with an embellished clutch.

All four look amazing, but my favourite is Queen Silvia, she looks very regal.

Are you sure Charlene is wearing Akris? I read that it was Armani in a few other places.
Stephanie was my favorite, she looked just lovely. I love her hair and clutch.

I like Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece look the most.

Actally, ex-princess of Greece.. but yeap, she’s the best of all four..

I often wonder how people still refer to themselves as royalty long after they’ve been deposed, but hey, Spain’s monarchy was reinstated so, there’s always hope.

          I just can’t accept it..

Stel – her title is Princess of Greece and her husband is crown prince of Greece, so they are being addressed correctly. The king and Queen along with the entire royal family are living in exile but they do not stop being King and Queen, no matter how much you don’t like it or cannot accept it. Sorry.

well, maybe they do have their titles but we greek people don’t actually have kings-queens-etc. they are not part of anything in our country.
anyway, marie-chantal in oscar de la renta is my fav from above

Stéphanie is my favourite, the clutch is just the right addition to this simple and elegant gown.

I want to love Marie-Chantal’s gown, but she lacks the height and therefore the dress makes her look rather heavy.

Marie Chantal look very chic and modern — this dress is perfection. I admire that she went simple, even casual, with the hair. Tres refreshing!

what the hell is up with the vest charlene? totally not needed. great clean elie dress in an interesting shape.

marie chantal is awesome. she brings it every time. too bad she’s a princess without a throne.

I love Charlene !!! she is truly a modern princess! I just love that she takes risks and doesnt stick to your usual shimmery evening gown which bores me to death.

    • Nat39 June 8, 2013 at 19:17 #

Love Charlene here too. The addition of the vest is what keeps it from being a typical cheesy mermaid look, she looks so chic and modern yet grand. Marie-Chantal – 2nd fave.

My personal favorite is Princess Stephanie but I think all four ladies look great. They all have distinctive, individual looks. Very nice!

I love the way Queen Silvia’s gown fits her. Not many Queens rock an hourglass figure, so… go ‘head with your bad self!

I love Stephanie dress It’s drape beautifully around her bump ;) The other one that I love is Tatiana’s from Greece in Armani privé( well not sure)but she was so elegant and princessy.

Is that princess Charlene of Monaco or Charlize Theron? I can’t tell the difference!

  12. amy June 10, 2013 at 13:31 #

Charlene is bringing it. The jacket stops it from being another dull mermaid shimmery gown.

  13. EmmaWoodhouse June 14, 2013 at 14:22 #

All four look elegant. Charlene looks very statuesque; Marie-Chantal looks chic and retro; Queen Silvia looks marvelous (I think she might be my favorite), and Stephanie looks like a Grecian goddess.
