Amanda Seyfried In Givenchy Pre-Fall – Shiseido ‘Cle De Peau Beaute’ Gala Dinner

Amanda Seyfried attended the Shiseido ‘Cle De Peau Beaute’ gala dinner at ArtisTree in Hong Kong yesterday evening.

The actress, who is the new face of both Givenchy’s Fall 2013 ready-to-wear campaign and their Very Irrésistible fragrance, wore a Pre-Fall 2012 dress designed by the brand’s creative director Riccardo Tisci.

Her scarlet satin long-sleeved dress with a necktie detail and central slit was styled with matching platform sandals, also by Givenchy, golden waves, and silver jewels.

This is a great colour for Amanda; however, the look feels like a nightgown.

Are any of you having the same feeling?

I agre with you FC, the color is great but it looks like an, expensive, nightgown.
Besides, I would have prefer an updo with her hair.

This is an absolute disaster. I am a fan of red and a fan of Amanda, but this is just too much satin fabric. I hope she had at least put a belt on or hold a clutch bag or something like that. Or maybe if she had put her hair up/back…?

I only like the color, all the rest is terrible, sloppy the fit is nonsense.
I don’t see as ambassador for Givenchy, at all.

+1, I prefer Liv Tyler but I guess I just need to get used to Amanda

She looks absolutely GORGEOUS. Wow, what a gown this is!!! Woman In Red to new levels!

I totally agree, the colour is great on her but this definitely feels like a nightgown, a very expensive one. Also I think that the hair (as much as I love her hair) is competing with the dress.

    I like the advertisement btw.

It’s tragic. I can’t even tell what it is – a pant-suit, a dress? All I see is a great mess of shiny, red fabric. And matching shoes. Ugh.

would be a great look had it been a bit shorter and belted. I’m really lovin the fabric

Does Tisci just like to overwhelm women with his clothes, he did the same to KK, just not attractive

Agree with FC, it looks like a nightgown. Also, this dress I could see Mary-Kate Olsen wear not Amanda.

  10. Aparajita June 7, 2013 at 12:00 #

    She’s drowning in the fabric.
I think this is the same dress that the lady in the Gentleman only by Givenchy advertisement wore.

I think that Amanda looks like Ashley Olsen… It’s terrible!!

    • Leo June 7, 2013 at 12:44 #

This! It looks like one of those shapeless The Row dresses that only the Olsens think it’s cool.

  12. Rashmi June 7, 2013 at 13:51 #

The dress is terrible! Its highly unflattering, the gown material is making it worse and the hair is competing!
Also the slit looks a last minute decision, and matching shoes .. aaah.
Why do you do these to such beautiful women!

I love this on the model. I wouldn’t have thought that I’d say this, but those over-the-elbow gloves give this the right edge. The hair and the pose help as well. I actually don’t mind her look that much, it’s just perfect 70s channelling, but prefer it on the right.

      Ehm, the other right…

Does anyone remember the old Givenchy commercials with Liv Tyler? Miss those. She was perfect for the brand.

  15. Christine June 7, 2013 at 15:29 #

She is making this look work.

  16. Amanda June 7, 2013 at 15:40 #

Red is a colour that suits her very well, but this is just too much.

  17. Mary Gatto June 7, 2013 at 16:16 #

The dress is wearing her like there’s no tomorrow!

  18. KatieKate June 7, 2013 at 19:21 #

I am not going to lie, I am starting to majorly tire of Givenchy.

When edgy clothes happen to vanilla people… I like Amanda but her styling is often uninspiring. I meah, why is her hair down? A dress like that can only look good if you present it the right way.

She should have picked something else to wear.

she is just soooo wrong for Givenchy almost as bad as Jlawrence for dior. She is drowning in that material which then cheapens the whole look and makes it look like a wardrobe. I love it on Joans, this is one of those dresses that are meant for models only.

On Joan Smalls, despite the gloves, this is so elegant. But it’s positively disastrous on Amanda! What a mess. I don’t think Givenchy works for her, except on occasion (the Met Gala)
