Kate Mara kept things short and sweet at the 2013 CFDA Fashion Awards, hosted by Bravo TV’s Andy Cohen, on Monday night at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City.
Wearing an alternative interpretation of an LBD from Dolce & Gabbana, the ‘House of Cards’ actress also followed the see-through trend with the doily cutouts that perforated this frock.
Lined in illusion nude from the waist down, the top portion played peek-a-boo with a black bra-lette, while a gorgeous, but seemingly out-of-place, jade-green necklace tumbled into the lacy neckline of the dress.
The pendant’s colour did set alight her auburn waves while spicing up her radiant, yet minimal makeup.
A Brian Atwood ‘Concy’ clutch, studded peep-toe Brian Atwood ‘Carla Laser Team’ pumps put a punk edge on this dark flower-child look.

The dress is eye-searingly busy and I have no clue what’s going on with the bralette. The necklace and shoes, with something totally different, would have been fine.
I agree about the necklace, it’s nice but it’s so out-of-place. The dress is quite nice, but nothing to get crazy about.
I really like her, but I really hate this entire look, H2T! This was worst of the night for me, hands down. ¦(
Her hair and makeup are lovely, but I wish the pop of color came via her shoes or clutch and not that necklace- there just seems to be too much going on up top and it’s kind of a muddled mess.
Looks bad.
Boring dress and the necklace does not work with that neckline.
+1
I recongnize her effort of trying to add a pop colour via the necklace. A great idea that was badly executed. I’m not quite a fan of her shoe choice either.
This dress looks like it’s made of grandma’s d’oyleys all stitched together and dyed black. Her hair needs to be up rather than merging with the complicated fabric of the dress. The necklace is just wrong. A very uninspiring look.
I only like the necklace on its own. The dress does nothing for her.
She looks nice, but nothing memorable and the necklace does look a little out-of-place.
