Best Dressed, Blog, Cannes Film Festival
Nicole, followed by Lea Seydoux and Audrey.
1. Nicole Kidman
2. Zhang Ziyi
3. Lea Seydoux
I’m sad that the festival is over. Cannes is one of the best times of the year for me. Although we didn’t had as much wow moments as last year, it was still 12 amazing days in fashion heaven and I have added several looks to my BDOTY list. Here’s to the next year!
“I’m sad that the festival is over”
Oh my, yes!
Tomorrow we will all feel like fashion addicts going through withdrawal!
yes, I’m sure of that.
I feel the same! What will we do? I keep coming back to the posts on this on this site!
By the way — major kudos to Katherine’s coverage of this year’s Cannes. Impressive. I love the insight and appreciate the quick and concise editing of features. Best fashion blog out there. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE!
I’m so sad too!!! I really enjoyed this festival, just as I always do!!!
Easily Nicole Kidman —with Audrey Tautou a bright and cheery runner-up.
I also liked Zhang Ziyi and Lea very much.
I really love the fact that Nicole chose gowns from diverse designers going from Chanel to Valentino to Armani to L’wren scott … instead of sticking to only one brand, like, well, you know.
Nicole wins this pretty easily for me (she must wear Armani more often), though I loved Audrey’s look. Put a smile on my face.
I couldn’t agree with you more. Look at the latest Armani collection and imagine Nicole on many of those looks (including the day wear). It’s definitely her style: structured, mature, tasteful and minimalist.
Having said that, I think Julia Roberts needs to stop wearing Armani. It does not work. Neither should Katie Holmes. This should be left for the Nicoles and Cates of the world.
LEA LEA LEA!!!!!!
she is so beautiful, elegant and chic but not show off! Just the perfect match!!!!!!!!!
WANT THIS DRESS
1 – Uma
2 – Nicole
3 – Lea
I can’t believe it’s over
Nicole Kidman was the only one who really brought her A-game consistently. Regal, elegant, lovely.
I don’t have much to complain about this list.
But let’s improve on perfection, shall we? just imagine:
1. Nicole’s dress in a deep violet hue – a color she has never worn before! Pair it with emerald drop earrings! I die even more!
2. Uma’s dress in a pale lavender color with a lighter material (like chiffon or a georgette?). Uma always looks phenomenal in lavender. That would have elevated this look and avoided the ‘promish’ effect.
Uma deserves to beat Nicole. She looked like a movie star. Kidman looked too thin and the white only enhances her paleness.
Um, no, dahling.
Uma looks like wrapped in tin. Too cold, harsh, and uninspiring!
FC! Can’t seem to find it, maybe I missed it… but did you feature Eugenia Silva in Delpozo at Cannes? She was ravishing… thought she’d be one of your faves too…
I must have missed it
I think I will remember only these dresses from Cannes this year. (I’m very picky)
Cindy Crawford – White Roberto Cavalli dress
Naomi Harris – Silver Calvin Klein dress
Fab BingBing – Pink Louis Vuitton gown
Zhang Yugi – Green Ulyana Sergeenko gown
Solange Knowles – Camel Stéphane Rolland dress
Sonam Kapoor – Blooming Dolce & Gabbana dress
Fan BingBing – Yellow pastel Elie Saab gown
Frieda Pinto – Silver Sanchita dress
Lyia Kebede – Black embellished Roberto Cavalli dress
Lea Seydoux – Blue bustier Louis Vuitton dress
Nieves Alvarez – Red Ralph & Russo gown
Zhang Yugi – Red Alexander McQueen gown
Alyson Le Borges – Red Armani Privé gown
Liu Wen – Blue lace Roberto Cavalli gown
Jessica Chastain – Purple Givenchy Couture dress
Zhang Ziyi – Black-and-gold Chanel Couture gown
Alessandra Ambrosio – Yellow Elie Saab dress
Stacy Keibler – Zac Posen dress (what’s the name of the colour, Wine red/purple?)
You lost me at “Cindy Crawford in Cavalli.”
LOL! you’re right though.
She wore at the start of the festival. It’s really pretty, you just need to see it live which what matters most.
After all we can’t complain about Cannes…there was no D. Kruger but there was Zhang Ziyi and Nicole Kidman…
I agree you that there was Zhang ZiYI and Nicole Kidman…
Hmm, I want to give this to Nicole Kidman but white is not her best color, imo. Much prefer the glorious gold Lauren or the luscious Lanvin from last year’s Cannes festival. Ironically, given my complaints about too much black and white this year, my fave from this group is Lea Seydoux — fab silhouette, incredibly chic styling.
For the closing ceremony, I had wish for Nicole to wear something with color, but oh well, she looks great nonetheless. I still couldn’t decide which is the best among these. I think I will eventually go with Audrey Tautou because that look just put a smile on my face
An easy win for Nicole
Nicole is the Queen and nobody else is even close to her regal class!
Easy choice this time: Nicole. More beautiful than ever.
Lea Seydoux in Maxime Simoens Couture.
I really liked Berenice Bejo in Elie Saab, but then I saw that the dress had marks of sweat under arms, and I didn’t like it. Vote for Nicole now
Lea and Audrey…then Berenice and finally an honorable mention for Uma.
