Audrey Tautou In Prada – Palme D’Or Winners Photocall

Audrey Tautou - Palme D'Or Winners Photocall

Mistress of ceremonies Audrey Tautou was spotted inside the Palais des Festivals for the Closing Ceremony of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival this evening plus she attended the Palme D’Or Winners Photocall.

The French actress wore a red ball Prada gown accented with a pink sash and pink straps, which has to be her most elaborate look to date.

Usually Audrey sticks to a fairly safe colour palette and from this festival alone, she has worn mostly midi dresses of a strapless nature — so this look is a welcome surprise and a great way to close the ceremony.

I’m glad to come across a look from Audrey that I can get behind. She looks beautiful! Love the colours.

This is not fitted well. This looks awkward to me. I don’t like the color combo either.

It’s not perfect, but well-fitted and dramatic! I love the big skirt. I don’t usually like Prada dresses or red and pink but this looks good!

I think she is so beutiful and elegant … this dress is really amazing!

i find the top a bit overwhelming…great colour, though!

miuccia prada prove that she really can make a beautiful gown!

This dress is by Prada, according to their Facebook page. It’s a gorgeous dress.

I don’t like the top of the dress, those large straps… No, I don’t like it, and I think she should learn to pose better. But she’s always lovely, no matter what she wears.

I like the skirt of this dress but not too fond of the top, too much fabric. Still, she looks lovely and the color are great on her. I wonder who did this dress ?

I like the simplicity of this gown. It’s pretty on her

    Beautiful Prada dress!

too much a little girl dressing up in her moms clothes and not in a good way.

      + 1000
I especially dislike these absurd straps, and pink with red together is so ugly…

      • Kathy May 28, 2013 at 03:39 #

Agreed. I don’t think the “child playing dress-up” vibe can ever be a good thing, unless you’re a teen and that’s the look you’re going for…

She looks radiant. The red and pink is an unusual combination, but it works. This is a big gown, but the relative simplicity of the design does not overwhelm her. Her hair and makeup suit her cute face perfectly.

I’ve now spent an hour thinking about this one and it’s growing on me somehow. It’s not my style, the bodice isn’t working for me at all nor are the tape-y straps, but it seems to fit her (/her persona’s) slightly awkward, demure kind of beauty perfectly. With this dress more than with most in the past I have to actively refrain from acknowledging the elephant on the red carpet called Amélie.

THIS is the Audrey that I love. I really liked her look at the Opening Ceremony (and appreciated that she chose an up and coming designer) but I haven’t really been feeling any of her other looks. This changes that. It’s so her, and it’s really fun.

It’s custom Lanvin. They tweeted about it.

      It’s Prada

  19. Marybeth May 26, 2013 at 22:39 #

    I really like this.
It’s the first look of hers that I have found Cannes-worthy. It’s a gown! It has plenty of drama but also that girly vibe she likes.
    A great finish!

  20. Christine May 26, 2013 at 22:34 #

    She looks adorable.

  21. Olivia May 26, 2013 at 22:29 #

Love this. Very simple but very pretty. I wish we knew who it was by. last night was custom Lanvin, so same again maybe?

I so love it! I loved all her dresses this year at Cannes, I think she had a great run, versatile and fun, like she is!

      +1 ! She is lovely !

  23. Nat39 May 26, 2013 at 22:26 #

Finally a look from her that I really like. She rarely excites me. Loving the drama of the skirt, and the contrasting pink elements keep the look youthful and interesting, and her clean styling. Fresh, youthful, she totally brings an effortless festive drama to the closing ceremony. Very refreshing.

The fit of the gown is great, but I can’t help but feel like she was playing dress-up in her mommy’s closet. I think this gown would’ve looked better on a teen actress. Or maybe the pink straps are bothering me, maybe I would’ve liked this better, had the gown been fully red.

  27. Fashion Guru May 26, 2013 at 22:14 #

Tres chic! Only she can get away with this confection. I loved the effect! On of te best Cannes looks this year!
